I was starting to have that same feeling, but not so much like you, but the fact how puppets seem to be fairly important here, maybe the puppets symbolizes them, or they are in truth puppets if the series goes to more exaggerated lenghts.

Just out of curiosity here, what do you make of the fact that some dolls has wings and others have missin limbs? Also the fact that Mei draws a lot...

That was so creepy! I like it so far. It's my first "horror" (couldn't think of a better word) anime, so hopefully it's a good one.

And can anyone else agree when I say: Scenery porn! The backdrops were all so gorgeous, I was marveling at the detail and effort that seemed to go into it.

You know, one thing I didn't like was the random cuts to the creepy dolls between a couple of scenes. They seemed unnecessary. Anyway...

I'm assuming someone with Kouichi's name killed Makise in the past. I'm assuming the students knew the truth and that's how they acted like they did, in an act of regret.

My theory is that Makise made a number of enemies after being so smart and popular and so she was bullied. And in the end, this Kouichi fellow struck the finishing blow. Everyone thought they would get in serious trouble and tried to cover their tracks with that act.

The whole time thing kinda confuse me now, the 26 years ago refers to 26 years before the anime starts surely, so why are they still obsessed with it? Unless I'm gettin the whole 26 years thing wrong :S

The beginning was... well, nothing spectacular, but seemed interesting enough. The class with their eye contact communication seems fairly creepy, especially the teacher. Jesus. That voice... Thought Misaki would be one of those types that just spout off random eerie vague-sounding things but she seemed, all in all... normal-ish. Better that way, though.

And, well, pretty much the first thing that came to my mind, too, when they talked about Misaki was murder. But why would kids today be concerned about a 26-year-old event? 26 years is just about a good amount for a new generation, so... their parents had something to do with this? Would be a bit far-fetched to guess the entire class is in a time stasis or ghosts or something...

But yeah, I'm watching this. Should be interesting.

is it me or did the opening theme sound like the beginning of the Dark Stalkers video game?

the series had a good pacing of leaving a knowledgeable viewer on the cusp of some revelation, but then leaving you hanging like a cock tease.... but at the same time allowing a casual viewer be slowly drawn into the story with anticipation of what's next to come.
the design of the girl with the busted ankle is my favorite so far.... i like the shy meganekko.

i like it a lot. best of the season, though? not yet.... and not gonna be easy with Nisemonogatari against it.

Big props to Another. My first 1 and done of 2012. That was Boring, with a capital B. I'm not gonna waste any more time on this show.
