Just incidentally, Monster is at #1 in my top 5 list, and Death Note is #2. :-)

Hmm....if Light ended up becoming Lord of the Entire world, how would that work? Don't you need minions? Will you still have to pay taxes? Is it realistic in this day and age to become a Supreme Overlord of Earth?

Maybe it's just me then, but then again, you don't think Light already knowing about Ryuk meeting up with Shidoh a bit odd?

Sure, a lot of those parts weren't probably as important as I'm making them out to be, but skipping those parts took a lot of it's flare (not exactly the word I'm looking for) away imo.

While I found reading Death Note to be an enjoyable experience, I have mixed feelings about the anime.

As I said, the anime left out quite a lot of details in the 2nd half of the series, and what was originally in my top 5 anime was dropped from the list completely because of the removed bits. If I hadn't read the manga, I would've had questions about certain situations Light was in. (Mainly parts involving Shidoh)

Well, I've only read volume 13 and that really isn't the actual Death Note story, and bits and pieces from the manga. So, no, I wouldn't know about all these "important parts" that are missing. From what I've heard, and from the parts I did read, the manga and anime are very close.

There is no need to rant about how they are different. >.>

Death Note is, and probably will always be the best anime, period. Everything is simply amazing, the story, animation, feeling, music, intellectual content, characters and candy. Only one thing was bad (read: it sucked) and that would be Near. That goddamn son o ma beach

All hail Bri- Desu Nooto \o/

i watched the series some time ago and, as amazing as the plot was throughout most of the it, i have to say i was a bit disappointed by the ending. up until..let's say..episodes 27..28..the show's really surprising and has some really intelligent twists in it (compared to some mostly predictable dumbass stuff that's out there). i just think they're a bit pushy with the rest of it: the plot gets more complex because they started adding characters out of thin air (mostly just like summoning their aunts and grannies into the thing), in the end just leading to the same result probably. i'm not saying the way they ended it is not correct (in a moral way), i'm just saying the could have done something better to the way they got there. i must admit i was really expecting something jaw-dropping..(this compared to how the rest of the anime was)
oh well..it was a cool series anyway.the soundtrack's nice too
