Finished up ep. 01

Not sure what to think of this one.
I haven't played any of the Persona games since the PS1 Revelations game, so I'm not familiar with the storyline.

However, I guess it wasn't too bad.
Just seemed really awkward and too conveniently setup and contrived.

Oh man. I would wholeheartedly recommend playing first if you ever plan on playing P4. You spend 10x as much time with the characters (and developing them) than you'd ever get via anime.

However, if you never plan on playing, this is the next best thing. I'm steering clear myself (for the time being) because I love the game too much to have an anime ruin it for me.

The story is sorta scooby-doo-ish but the characters are what make it fun.

just finished ep 1 ~ theanimenetwork is simulcasting/streaming it with their own subs

i've only played day 1 on the game, and it really pretty much was identical to day 1 (part) in the anime. only the anime was much quicker and i have to say, less dull.

The animation is nothing to write home about. for a pilot episode i think only Fate/Zero was worse for panning shots in still frames, so this was done on a budget i guess. The character designs were solid. I liked the VAs for most of the cast. The music sounded like it was taken straight from the game... and i guess the game fans will love that, but really... it wasn't a good thing for the climax of ep 1.

Definitely watch more. but this is giving me a 2.0 - 3.0 feeling right now (nothing amazing, or even noteworthy).

Episode 1

Looking good. It did most things from the beginning worth mentioning but much faster than the game. Also, I personally loved the absence of "TRIAL OF THE DRAGONNNNNNN" and they made the... bladder thing seem less retarded than in the game. Kinda missing the English voices though... surprisingly enough, I don't usually like dubs very much.

Was hoping the best and fearing the worst, but at the moment it seems like it's cutting out the unneeded parts while maintaining the atmosphere, so I'm really happy. I like the game bits, as well. Looks like this'll be something to look forward to every week. Makes me happy. So very happy.
