As the PR states "outside of Asian territories"
Which means, sure you can still buy it, if you want to import the JP DVD/BDs.

Sentai & Anime Network will still hold the R1 streaming and digital licenses though, we just don't get an actual physical release in R1.

Has an official reason been stated as to why there is no home release? This is unusual. I want answers, because it was my intention to buy this.

Other than what the PR I posted said:

Quote:
the show's production committee has requested a buy-back of the home video rights to this show from all of the committee's licensees outside of Asian territories.
No.
And we're not likely to ever get a direct answer as to why the committee wanted the home video licenses back.

Ro-Kyu-Bu's 2nd PSP Game to Bundle Original Anime DVD

Ro-Kyu-Bu! Himitsu no Otoshimono "loli sports stealth adventure game" next spring

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ro-Kyu-Bu! light novel author Sagu Aoyama confirmed on Sunday that the new Ro-Kyu-Bu! game will bundle an original anime DVD. The announcement was first made in Sunday's Aki no Saiten 2012 event from ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Bunko imprint.

ASCII Media Works revealed the second Ro-Kyu-Bu! PSP game through shopping bags that were distributed at the 82nd Comic Market this past summer. The "loli sports stealth adventure game" Ro-Kyu-Bu! Himitsu no Otoshimono is slated for next spring.

Aoyama's comedy novel series follows a high school student who finds himself coaching a basketball team of elementary school girls. It inspired a television anime adaptation in 2011, as well as a PSP role-playing game/adventure game where players could choose whether to focus on a "loli gauge" or a "sports gauge" when training their team.

While Sentai Filmworks had announced last year that it had acquired the license to release the anime series in North America, it relinquished the rights to do so this past June. The series streamed on The Anime Network as it aired in Japan.

Light novel author Sagu Aoyama announces news

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ro-Kyu-Bu! light novel author Sagu Aoyama confirmed on Sunday that production on a second season of the Ro-Kyu-Bu! television anime has been green-lit. The announcement was first made in Sunday's Dengeki 20th Anniversary Festival event.

The title of the second season is Ro-Kyu-Bu! SS. The "SS" has two meanings: "Shōgakusei wa Saikō daze!" ("Primary School Girls Are Great!!") and "Second Season."

Awesome! That's much better news than a single OVA.

Summer it is!
Hopefully, even though the first season didn't get a physical release, Sentai will consider picking up the second season.

Ro-Kyu-Bu! 2nd Season & 2nd PSP Game Slated for Summer

posted on 2013-02-08 23:50 EST

The second season of Ro-Kyu-Bu!, Ro-Kyu-Bu! SS, is scheduled to air this summer in Japan, and more information will be announced at the Dengeki Bunko Spring Festival on March 17. The franchise's second PSP game, Ro-Kyu-Bu!: Himitsu no Otoshimono, is in development at Kadokawa Games for sale on June 20 at the price of 6,090 yen (US$65), with a special edition set at 10,290 yen (US$110).

Last June, North American distributor Sentai Filmworks relinquished the license to the first season after the production committee of the first season requested a buyback for all home video rights outside of Asia.
