First episode was... umm yeah, what was that? Except for the fight scene, which was pretty good in my opinion, I was pausing it to do something else. It's not that I was expecting a kickass show from the very beginning but still it was too slow for me. But I must admit I love characters' desings. That's CLAMP for you.
I hope it'll get better and more badass with next episodes. |

Episode 2 and I'm starting to notice a glaring problem. Too much badly done slice of life, not enough ass kicking schoolgirl with a sword. Take the beginning and the end of this (Especially the end. That was awesome) and build on that. Ditch this annoying, ditzy schoolgirl B.S. and focus on the good stuff! Also

so... my wife was browsing a webboard of some sort (probably 2ch) and she found a brilliant nickname for the new Saya.
Mary Poppins. ~she's practically perfect in every way, sings, knows everyone and is friends with everyone in town, and is magical (how else can you explain her surviving that fall when fighting that plant thing). I loved it... because the name also meshes with what i've been calling her, mary sue. so from this point on, i'll be calling this version of saya, Mary Poppins. as for ep 2 Totally called it on tall dark and Bishi. the fights were totally without tension, because mary poppins is practically perfect in every way. I say practically because she did face-plant 1 time, of course since that is apparently "moe" I'm not sure you can call that a fault. The twins are so f-ing cliche it's killing me when they're on the screen, I mean there are 2 shows this season with the exact same pair of twins, talk about unoriginal; of course we're now 2 eps in and the twins have gotten literally every single one of the best lines in the show... which just highlights how bad the dialogue has been to this point. |

I'm not really liking it, I'll finish it because I've watched the Blood+ and the movies but this one is just annoying when you try to compare them, it's like a parody.. She's falling all over the place in the first one and then she busts out into some rambo perfect fighter.. Who knows, it could be like Nurarihyon where Rikuo only gets his powers at night...
In anycase, it's not even all that enjoyable to watch.. A let down. |

I'm thinking this is going to eventually take a dark and twisted turn - at least I hope. It's unfortunate that this is called "Blood," because it seemingly has nothing to do with Blood: The Last Vampire or Blood+ other then the fact that her name is Saya and she has a sword. Where the fuck are the vampires? Or vampire-like monsters? Are there going to be vampires? I don't really care I guess since I like most things Clamp has done in the past few years so I will keep watching. I actually like this Saya as well, she sort of reminds me of Kobato with a sword.

Can't bring myself to finish watching episode 2 and I am 7:51 minutes in...
The fighting sequences are nothing special. What's left besides the fighting are the boring bits where the main character Saya talks about food or just eats pink cubes while a male character (can't be bothered to look up his name) talks about how he had heard her sing and starts singing himself. I think the subtitle of episode 2 should be "Agony: the singing continued..." Real shame... |

Alright, for the 3rd episode in a row, singing(something or someone needs to crush this girls windpipe, so i don't have to suffer through that singing again), eating, pointless chatter, fight monster. I'm honestly trying here, but something better happen to advance whatever the plot is next week, or this show might just get thrown on the dropped pile. And on a side note
