Want to migrate to Anime-Planet, but not without your club? I have a solution!

I've heard from a lot of people who would like to use Anime-Planet as their primary list resource, but have a club elsewhere and want to find a way to move it and its members over here as well.

It's true that Anime-Planet doesn't have a club feature on the site - yet. It's something I definitely plan on designing and developing, but a few other big projects have to happen first (such as an automated recommendation algorithm, and a few other important things).

In the meantime, I'd like to find a way to help, so I have a hopefully workable solution. Here in the forum we have a Club Chat section. At the moment, people tend to create one thread per 'club' they create and have discussions there. However, I also have the ability to do the following:

-Create a subforum for a specific club
-Attach moderators to that specific club subforum

You could then do anything vbulletin lets you do - create threads, sticky them, lock them, etc. It's true that in the forum you wouldn't be able to do things like upload images for the club, but you could have a sticky thread with the club's info/images, threads made specifically for images to be posted on, and anything else you'd like.

It may also be possible to have a club badge that shows up on your site account

The solution isn't perfect, but you'd have the reliability of AP's server supporting you, and once we create clubs sometime this year on the main site, we'd migrate all of the content into your site club page.

If this interests you, please respond with the following. Also, serious responses only - it does take time to set up subforums and moderators, so only respond if you plan on using the section :) Bear in mind anyone will be able to post, so you may find lots of new members here!

1. The name of your club

2. The name of your moderators (you will need a forum account for each of the names - right now the site/forum accounts are unfortunately separate - they will be merged in the future - so have your moderators create a forum account that matches their site account)

By the way, this offer applies to established clubs here on AP already who would like to be able to post many threads for your club ^_^ (such as ISSUP, etc).

Additionally, I can try to work interesting club activity threads (contests? etc) into site announcements sometimes or Facebook/twitter posts, and other fun ways to get your club noticed :D as I'd love to help encourage more discussion on the site.

My club talked about this before. I'll ask again, to see whether or not we are active enough on an admin level set u more a really basic thing over here.

Consider HTWA (HowToWatchAnime) temporarily reserved until I can contact enough people... through MAL.... which may take a while.

I might just send it (above application) in tomorrow before I hear back since I'm probably going to be setting everything up anyways :P

If possible it would probably be a good idea to have all the previous MM threads moved into there from anime discussion. a link to all those threads exist in the first post of the MM club thread so they won't be too much trouble to track down for you.
