What type of staff roles do you care about?

We already list:

-Director
-Producer
-Voice actors
-Mangaka artists/authors

Directors/producers don't show up in the anime entries yet, but will soon.

While we don't plan on being as in depth as ANN (ie, '2nd key animation' or other minor roles), we do want to make sure we've covered what you're interested in.

The other problem is, role names tend to be inconsistent, especially related to music roles. For example, ANN has things like Composer, Audio Design, Sound Design, Sound, Music, Original Music, Music DIrector, etc. I don't know if these are actually different roles or if there's just a lack of consistency, but we do want to be consistent here.

The only consistent ones I've noticed that people might care about are:

-Character Design
-Original [Creator, or Manga]. ANN tends to list original creator vs original manga inconsistently

Any ideas on roles you'd want to see, and what they'd be called?

Despite the ambiguity, I would definitely like one for the main composer/music person. Being able to see which anime have music from the likes of Yuki Kajiura, Kou Otani, Nanase Hikaru, Kenji Kawai, etc. seems pretty relevant. If there's any doubt over who the composer is for a particular series, it may be possible to look up who is given the credit on the ost cds and use that.

the question is, what are they called? and how do i know how to match up that title with what's on ANN? (given theres about 6+ naming conventions they have there, and i dont know what the difference is between them)

Yeah composer for definite. That's normally one of the things I look for most.

If it would be possible to include bands/singers in this for ending/opening purposes then even better.

Other than that I can't see much else that I'd be looking for.

Writers come to mind (ie, who did the screenplay or script). bout the only thing I can think off beyond composers for the music of the show. The only thing with composers is that sometimes it's broken up weirdly (part sound then part music/musical instrument).

All the ANN ones I've look at just say "music" -.-' Can't find any exceptions... can you link some?

Yep, OP/ED music would be great ^^ Also the titles of the songs if possible.
