Character tag list - feedback requested

I like the idea of a boy-crazy tag. My suggestions would be:

Preist/Preistess/Religious Leader (something along those lines)
Genius
Deity
Nurse
Athlete
Eyepatch
Split Personallity
Androgenous/Crossdresser, something like that

And MAYBE these, depending on how sensitive most ppl would b about it: Homosexual, Bisexual, just cuz it'd make sense since we have Shounen-Ai and Shoujo-Ai, though I guess that would depend on how sensitive a topic it may be for this community.

What ever happen to the Mastermind/Tactical/Strategic tag that was being discussed?

Allow me to just spitball some ideas. Feel free to turn them down. I am just simply tossing in some suggestions.



Bookworm - For book readers. (Such as Maggie, Michelle, and Yomiko from Read or Die. Might be to narrow of a tag but I though I'd mention it anyway.)

Know-It-All - That person that seems to have all the facts about anything.

Vengeful - The character that is always seeking vengeance or revenge. (Sasuke from Naruto)

Honorable - Someone who despite being good or evil always does things honorably.

Murderer - Some tags will already imply this like Assassin. But most characters that kill I wouldn't consider as an actual assassin.

Vigilante - One who takes the law into his own hands.

Adopted -

Gunslinger - Someone who uses/carries guns frequently. (Vash from Trigun)

Ladies' Man - A guy who is often successful at wooing a lady, or often the attention of one or more ladies. (Miroku from Inuyasha)

Quiet - Someone who doesn't talk much. This might coincide often with shy, but quiet doesn't always mean someone is shy so this might be a useful tag as well. (Shino from Naruto)

Nervous -

Anthropomorphic - An alternative to Catgirl that will cover all genders/species/whatever.


Those are just some I can think of right now. I tried to give an example for each using the most common character I can think of or whatever popped into my mind first. I can't think of examples for all but I think most are broad enough that they would go good.

I can see where you're coming from, but I think that this could give away too many spoilers. If someone's an assassin you generally know it from the beginning but people who murder and don't fit into another tag like samurai, ninja, assassin are most likely to be regular people you don't expect and it could well be giving away spoilers.

We've got the flirt tag at the moment which I think covers that really.

I second this one. There are a lot of characters who aren't shy but just don't talk much :)

My suggestions:

Miko - if we have ninjas and samurai then this is a must
Magic user - Witch is only female, plus don't include divine power and onmyou
Magical girl - maybe similar to Witch but still distinct
Rich guy/Ojousama - pretty frequent type of character
Emotionless - Yuki Nagato etc.
Foreigner - aka baka gaijin
Kanasai dialect - this is THE foundation of Japanese comedy
Chinese dialect - fake Chinese dialect like Ku Fei speach
Boke+Tsukomi - again this is the basics of comedy
Childhood friend - every harem must have some
Bully - more rare but still necessity
Amnesiac - classical plot device so it maybe spoiler if character lost memory in the middle of a show
Animal ears - Catgirl are not alone
Paparazi - too curious characters
Rival - every shonen has them but may be spoiler
Hyperactive -maybe close with Tomboy

Yah that's true. What would be cool if there was a function that could hide spoiler tags. Like on the forum with the Spoiler button. That way we could make full use of tags regardless of whether or not they are spoilers.

I suppose but in all honesty when I think of flirt I think of a woman flirting. That might seem sexist but that is what I think of mostly. And a ladies' man doesn't necessarily have to always flirt in order to get a woman. They could play the "Bad Boy" card or something like that.

Again these are just ideas I'm tossing out and won't be disappointed if they don't make it. But I do think that each one has it's place that would fit well.

There already 100+ tags. There doesn't need to be a tag for everything. As it, I'm not sure, but it may well be that only Sothis is adding tags still, and mostly only adding from what people tell her to add when they send in synopses. I'm not sure of the effectiveness of the tag thread.

The tags are they are already, seem to be unmanageable, and too numerous.

EDIT: The tags have been reduced from 153 since I last talked about in Sept. I will have to look this over, but my points still stand.

There are over 30 tags just for anime. There are a lot more anime CHARACTERS than there are anime SHOWS. Suffice it to say if you have more things to tag it would be safe to say you need more tags.

Haha. I didn't even realize he was talking about show tags.

But sothis what do you think about the tags I mentioned earlier? Were you still planning on doing the Mastermind/Tactical/Strategic tag?
