And because I have no idea what the file format is, but mostly because I failed at the whole 'paying attention before posting' thing. Given how it works, I now approve of it much more. Too bad it seems that the only way to get that file format is by making an account and exporting a dummy list, unless I missed something. |

I don't know which elements AP uses, but you can probably skip myinfo. Remember that it takes animedb_id, not title, so you'll have to map your site to MAL first. |

export is currently not planned but we may do it eventually (however, it is very low priority)

Animenfo has lists? I didn't know that. I guess we'll have to look into it and see exactly what would be involved in importing their lists. Keep in mind though that there's no guarantee it'll be possible (somesites' lists just aren't set up in a way that allows you to import them properly). Still, it's worth looking into. Sothis will probably give you a more final answer once she's had a chance to scope out the situation.
edit: I checked it out, and I don't think importing from animenfo will be feasible. The problem is that animenfo's lists don't include fixed statuses, they're based purely on user's notes. The database needs to be able to look at the list and see recognizable keywords so that it knows whether to add a given series to your watched list, dropped list, want list, etc. With animenfo's setup though, one person might write "watched", another "completed", another "seen it", and so on. Similarly, it doesn't track how many episodes you've seen in any predictable manner. It'd probably be possible to rig up something to import animenfo lists by having it search each line for a set of keywords, but it would be buggy & imperfect at best. Sothis will have to give you the final answer on the subject, but it'll most likely be "sorry, we can't make it work".

Well thank you for looking into it for me, I know there list setup is bad, which is why I have been slowly migrating my list over too this site. If you do find a way to get it working that would be great, but I fully understand the difficulty behind it. In the meantime I got a lot of anime to add to my list.
