I think I'd be most interested in writing a Q&A type of column, akin to that of answerman on ANN. Other than that, perhaps some sort of rants and raves articles (though that's not really specific).
I suppose a question of mine would be, is this something you'd want... daily? Weekly? Monthly? |

I could definitely see this working. Especially with the updates on line-ups for a certain seasons anime, like the one's people post in the forums. I'd also be interested in helping with anything. I keep up with a lot of new shows every season and writing a little something about them shouldn't be too hard.
Another idea I had was somebody making expositions of more obscure anime or maybe older anime shows that newer fan's might not be interested in otherwise. I'm sure there's people here with a wealth of knowledge for this.

re: reviews
reviews are a little trickier because we do already have the reviews section of the site. now, i do want to get a preview section going like ANN does for brand new season stuff, but as far as full series reviews those would probably still be delegated to /reviews/ (unless i'm misunderstanding what reviews would mean?) re: rare/obscure stuff, that would be me, haha. im thinking id love to post a rarity type column but also worry i wouldnt end up having time to do it. id love to see some niche columns if people have individual interests, such as 'old school mecha', etc.

As far as Niche goes, I'd probably focus on (you guessed it) the herem-y/ecchi stuff you love so much. I'd also write on some hyperviolent stuff (Ala Future Diary). Last edited by TheOmnipotentLemur; 09-08-2009 at 05:18 PM. |

If it's the sort of thing you're looking for, I'd be interested in doing something similar to what Lemur is suggesting. I'd feature a couple of shows each season, and post my thoughts / rants / praises on the episodes (I'm thinking about weekly updates).
About my writing skills, I'd like to think my writing is on a level where the text is free of errors and has a reasonable flow to it (although not nearly as good as the site-reviewers here). |

I'm interested in trying my hand out on doing something on older anime. No particular genre, just older anime in general. Nothing newer than '95-96. And if that's too new than jump back to '89-90 and older. Maybe a weekly or bi-weekly thing.
The idea is to get people interested in anime from the past to show them that just because something has some age on it doesn't mean it isn't quality entertainment. It could be a spot light on a series, a history lesson and/or a general look back at what anime was in the days before the internet and other technology made it easier to acquire and watch anime. |

I'd like to see the Q&A thing get some legs. Niche articles would be great too. It's hard to find something new when your criteria is simply "something different" or "something unusual" (even though the latter is in part covered by certain tags in the database). I don't think niche/underground manga get much coverage, so perhaps someone with the appropriate interests could write a column in that area. Since a large number of those are oneshots, it could easily work out as a weekly column.
