A brief note about the 'recent manga' page!

Ever since we announced adding placeholder entries, I've been working on adding manga to the database (anime is much more filled in with real info, though there are still a few things I need to add).

Prior to the placeholder announcement we had around 5-600 manga in the database (complete with full info). A week later after tirelessly spending hours every evening adding manga, we're now around 1,300.

Awesome for the site! Bad for the recent manga page! ^_^;

I just wanted to give a bit of a cautionary note: unless you really have to, try to avoid loading the recent manga page (for example instead of checking a few times a day, if you do, check once a day, or once every few days). The recent anime/manga pages load everything added in the last (12, I think?) days, which normally isn't a zillion titles. Adding 600 in a week is pretty extreme, and the page will load, but it'll be SLOW (as all of those status boxes have to initialize). Occasionally my browser has locked up so I've stopped checking till it clears out :)

So yeah, just a note - use that page at your own risk while we continue to fill in the blanks1 ^_^ I expect the first big manga push to be done within about a week or less.

and just to clarify, the notice is for all of your benefit, not the site's... the site will be able to load the page just fine, but it may load slowly for each of you. basically i just wanted to warn people in case they wondered if the site was laggy or something ^_^

The page -says- 15 days, but if you look, it's actually only 12. (Currently, the 6th through the 17th.)
