I don't see any point to it, either.
If someone doesn't agree with me, they can write a PM. If they want others to see their disagreement, they can post it. If they want moderator action, they can report posts. This reputation feature is just an underhanded mix of those three, which lessens the burden on the user's conscience. They can now disagree in public without taking responsibility in public. They can nudge posts towards moderator attention without actually demanding it. As if that was a good thing... |

eBay introduced anonymous feedback a while ago. The best such feature may be on Stack Overflow. It is a public numeric value. People voting for your post means +10, against -2. Once you reach 15 you can vote up yourself, above 100 you can vote down, which costs you 1. All votes are anonymous. |

Okay, here are the two major problems I see with this:
A. We can no longer derail Lagore's pointless threads. As we all know, that is fun for the whole family. I hate to see it go. :( B. Only slightly less important than point A, what happens when I use the word "shit" (like I just did) and someone says, "GASP! Shit is a BAD WORD. I don't like BAD WORDS. I'm giving Najaraja a negative rep point thingy for using the word "shit"."? Because you know that's gonna happen and it's really annoying. Last edited by Najaraja; 07-02-2009 at 04:58 PM. |

another thing if it's going to be non anonymous then any one should be able to see who gave who what rep and why so that they can judge in their own mind if it was a fair call or not.....if your being asked to judge a person on their rep you should be able to see the evidence.....it's no secret i don't like this i like a-p because it's not like other anime forums....not wishing to see it become anymore like them....
