Mega site user pruning for inactive accounts - today

Just as a heads up, today I'll be pruning a lot of very old users who are inactive. When we first launched site accounts there wasn't much you could do (no anime lists, etc) and a lot of people signed up and never came back. I'll be targeting that set of users as deletions, as well as anyone who hasn't signed in in like a year (not all, but especially people who have blank profiles with no info).

This means that if you have a very good reason, I might be willing to change site names (for example if the name you wanted was taken already and after the prune you see it's available, I can possibly change it. especially if you weren't able to match your site/forum name because one was taken).

So if you are reading this but haven't logged into your site account for a year for some reason, do so in the next few hours. ^_^

it actually is - a rough count of people who haven't logged in in over a year is over 11,000. v3 will change that as it's completely badass, so i won't remove everyone old for now... but people who havent been here in over a year + have blank profiles and other people who are unlikely to return will be axed.

i've started pruning people who have advertised in their profiles that they no longer keep this account up to date, and link to an alternate site for a different profile. most are gone now, and the second major wave of pruning will begin tomorrow. ^_^

wouldn't it be handy to make a system that auto-delete's users that are inactive for a year?
i dont know what kind of database you have but it should be posible ^^

Cool, I've actually wanted to ask you about this the other day, but was unsure if it was actually possible. I really wanted to change my site name for it is quite embarrassing and has no profound meaning to it whatsoever lol =P. So I will finally be able to change my name....yesssss!
