RSS feeds re-added! Stay up to date on new manga, anime, and reviews

RSS feeds are now back up for recently added anime (and now manga!), and recently added anime reviews. Because of V3 work we don't have a full RSS page like on V2.0, and the rss image links are only in a few spots... but you can still use them!

You can find the feed links on the anime, manga, and reviews homepages. Also on the recent anime and recent manga pages.

Recently added anime - Anime-Planet.com
Recently added manga - Anime-Planet.com
Recently added anime reviews - Anime-Planet.com

Glad to see this re-instated!
Sothis, you might want to change "readded" to "re-added"... in my sleepy state I read it as a new Internet-ism meaning "has been read".

Wow, this is pretty nifty! I never used this type of thing before, but now I'm loving it!

Sorry to double post, but there seems to be a bug.

When I click on a manga's name, the AP widow pops up but I get an error:

Search Results
You searched for: 364.html

User Results
No results found

Re-do search for 364.html in: ANIME | REVIEWS | USERS | ENTIRE SITE

The anime one seems to work fine.

I suggest to move the feeds from their current places since i think it would be more standardized if the feed links were on these pages more or less on the same spot/column. Ie moving them below the "login or sign up" box (or even further (below "Random 2008 Anime", "Random 2008 Manga")). Also to rename the reviews rss feed link ("subscribe" to "subscribe to newest reviews").

Re: RSS feeds re-added! Stay up to date on new manga, anime, and reviews

Nope, I didn't add the reviews one, just anime and manga. I'm clicking the titles of the manga. Clicking on any of them gives me the same error, except the "You searched for: 364.html" number is different for each. This is the link I'm getting: http://www.anime-planet.com/search.p...earch=367.html

Re: RSS feeds re-added! Stay up to date on new manga, anime, and reviews

kets, as mentioned we arent doing code changes and right now this is all we have for now.

kari i'm totally confused on why you're getting that, given for me the titles are working fine (### shouldnt be showing up at all). did you have an old feed subscribed that you never removed? what links does it show you're subscribed to? what browser/os?

or is anyone else running into this problem? if i can't reproduce it i cant do anything about it.

Read it as a suggestion for post v3.. (but you can move that post todo-flagged to the v3 forum)

It ( http://feeds.feedburner.com/AnimePlanet-Manga or http://***.************.***/***/******************.***) works fine under MSIE8.0.6001.18372 RC1.
The linked entries have the format http://www.anime-planet.com/manga/manga-name and that works. On the contrary, in Opera 9.52 the feed shows the article addresses in the format http://www.anime-planet.com/manga/#ID.html (#ID numerical).

Kari5: please include browser versionwhile submitting bug reports. We don't know your browser unless we are lucky to see it on the forum while youre online.
Sothis, Kari5 used Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727).

Lets take a look at the feed xml:
HTML Code:

<item>
                <title>I Am a Piano</title>
                <link>http://www.anime-planet.com/manga/i-am-a-piano</link>
                <description>&lt;p&gt;A bright and new piano moves from location to location over the years, growing and gaining memories along the way. From being with children to soldiers and beyond, it lives a long and eventful life...&lt;/p&gt;</description>
                <pubDate>Sun, 08 Feb 2009 19:53:13 PST</pubDate>
                <guid>http://www.anime-planet.com/manga/366.html</guid>
        </item>

What happens is that IE8 shows the url in the link entry and opera the url in the guid entry. I don't have MSIE7 here but it appears that it shows the url in the guid entry instead of link. But seems that behaviour was changed in IE8.
