Just had a thought (Rare and mystical though these are, don't be expecting *too* much profound insight here folks).

I was just thinking that my anime consumption *has* slowed down since AP has gone offline (Not a criticism! Point of fact! See where I'm going with this one!) but that's 'cause I'm working my way through one series at a time instead of hopping between them.

When AP is running I can see which episodes I have got to and find the next epi without rooting through wiki trying to figure out how far I got and then ruining the plot by seeing spoilers (I do that a lot). I mean who can keep up with where they are in shows like Bleach, Naruto, One Piece or anything of 100 or more episodes unless they are watching it often or tracking on AP (or writing on tiiiiny scraps of paper and hiding them in nutshells for safekeeping)?

Then I thought about all the people who were complaining about this (Yeah it sucks, but I'm still heading somewhere! Follow my meandering paths! They are punctuated emphatically!)

And then I thought "I wonder how much anime Sothis and the others who are working on the site have been able to watch?" (This was my point, I got here eventually!) I figure its got to be somewhere in the little to none bracket.

I think I had more of a point but I lost it and my post is getting a little long, so ta once again for the site, and ummm happy...saturday?

I found the figures and so on the web, and I've added the text... I pretty much thought it was suitable.

an excellent point - ive been able to watch zero anime since this crisis began - a month ago :( and probably another 2 weeks after launch tomorrow, since some of the old features still wont be done

Then again soth, when was the last time you watched anime for enjoyment? When the site was intact, 99%+ of what you watched was stuff you forced yourself to watch in order to add it to the site. At least spending all this time working on the new site gives you a "legitmate" excuse not to be watching more terrible ecchi series to add to the database. ;)

Haha, I switched to manga for awhile, because without the recommendation database, I don't know what to watch next. I can't remember how I functioned before AP

I think this is a case of 'absence makes the heart grow fonder'... and not only will we get AP back, but because sothis is just that awesome, we'll get a powered-up new version of AP. I just hope she doesn't collapse trying to give it to us!

No worries, sothis, I think most of us will agree that we'll wait as long as it takes! I don't even have any interest in using an "in the meantime" site... it's AP or nothing for me, baby!

Er, well, the version of AP that will be launched tomorrow (cross fingers, touch wood, say a prayer) won't have new features and will lack some of the old ones as well. It's awesome that we'll have our lists back, but best to also keep a bit realistic.

Naturally, over the the course of the next few weeks/months, then things will slowly get more and more awesome.

Thanks... I kind of get iritaded by people who are pushy like that. Sothis and her crew also have a life and family. We should respect that. Lucky most of the more active users do understand it, and don´t nag, but those who do, are playing with fire, and they will burn themselfs.
