Looking for volunteers to run one (or two?) clubs, for welcoming ppl and helping ^_^

I think having a friendly "face" on the main site is a great idea. As someone who really isn't a forum goer, and with the two separate log ins even less likely too, I see the value in something right up front. With most of my free time taken elsewhere, I can't be of much help, But I just wanted to cast my vote as a "yes to both"

Great ideas. I planned on helping Crimm's idea of a welcoming club last year, but that didn't get too far. And then I at one point I had/still have drafts of posts that I was going to add to HTWA.

I'd be willing to help on either of these. I've been around clubs on other sites. It's nothing new to me, but at the same time. With all the other stuff I'm doing.

I'll throw this out here: You can use the HTWA Club as one of the clubs if you want. I can probably clean up the forum in a day, we've been need of new admins, since I'm the only one left. Just idea since that is already set up, not that it takes very long.

I would definitely love to help out with welcoming and just plain helping people.
I want to be more active with the site and forum anyways so I'm willing to be apart of either one!

It's better to get quality over quantity. Though, running both might scare some people, they could think there's just too much to do (seems like the main concern for the "welcoming club) or that they're not "qualified" to be in either (such as myself, I don't think I know the site features well enough to help newcomers with technical problems; I feel I'd do a better job welcoming them).

sorry i made it sound confusing, i mean that id like to find a few people interested in running the welcoming one, and a few people interested in running the 'help' one - not the same people running both clubs :)

as opposed to one person running welcoming and one persson running 'help', i think having a small team of mods for each one will be more effective, and could mean if someone gets busy/cant help, there are other mods for each club that can ^_^

This might end up being a double post. But there was 4 new posts since I wrote my last one. When I brought HTWA over from MAL I was writing a lot of guides for APs features and whatnot. Some of that stuff has now changed obviously. But I should probably be able to find some of my old stuff that I didn't totally finish on HTWA.

I could help "run" one or both. I say that because for HTWA I was suppose to help run, and I ended up being the only admin to come over here........

The idea is interesting but I have a couple of questions on how is this going to work.

1) Will sections of the forum (news & anouncements, general manga discussion, general anime discussion, etc, etc.) have a special segment where newcomers can post and then get replies, akin to a FAQ section? or can we make a specific one for everything to be there?

2) Will a chatbox-like system that is used in some forums be used for this purpose in special?

3) Will the club members have to be everyday in attention of who needs help and stuff, or we will partcipate solely when we're "pmed" or "asked" to do things?

Well those are some questions, because the idea is nice, but it needs structure.

You planned or having mobs AND "members" right? What do you expect from either?

P.S.: I think it's be a good idea to have a subforum allowing mods/members to warn others that they'll be busy/away and why/for how long.

Ah, I see, I also thought you meant for both. Well, I'd gladly be in a mod team for the help section. I've been around for some time, and I have beta-tested some stuff as you know ;) So I should be able to help with most newcomer issues =P
