folks, after 5 days straight of coding for 7-9 hours a night to get this done, i put it up (after extensive testing), yet for some reason it's totally fucking broken. it's now 3 am and i'm going to get a grand total of 5 hours or less of sleep for work tomorrow, so i'm sorry, i can't fix it tonight.
until tomorrow night, please just don't use it. it's way, way too big of a change to roll back so it'll just have to be broken now. please do me a favor and don't post a bunch of threads asking what's wrong, etc. it's broken. *goes to bed, extremely frustrated/drained* |

If you cant stand the heat, get out of the kitchen...
Guess thats what you did Vivafruit But when I look at what Sothis has made for us and just about how many people are glad with what we have here. Most of us think the site is just awesome. To think how many people flock to this website, and how many people just seem to carry this community. I think that is about the greatest compliment you can ever get. And dont worry about it being broken... We will just wait... with great anticipation... but we will wait, no matter how long it takes!

Why? Since people are going to use the different lables as they interpret them (like the big discussion about "saved" shows) there might be uses for the stars in all categories.
I for one have as an example dropped series that I liked since I did not have the time to watch them, I have however not marked them as dropped due to the negative connotations that would have. If we assume that the present way of sorting anime will stay (ie no stalled) then I could properly mark them as dropped but with a good rating. There might be other such uses, so why put up limitations where they are not needed? |

Yea, there is extensive (well thought out) logic behind how the rating feature will finally work.
Edit: ...by sothis :)

@sothis: hang in there! Consider my post full of encouragement vibes, coming your way. How 'bout a lively dancing banana to cheer you on?
![]() That said, the following is in no way a complaint of any kind or impatience for the feature - I just find it fun: I ran my mouse over the stars on the way to switch an episode number in my anime list and noticed they lit up as I went. So I ran my mouse back over them again. And they light up but it's delayed (basically the lighting can't keep up with the mouse movement). Which meant that when I stopped I had a little light show of randomly flashing stars. It looked cool so I did it again. Then I realized how stupid I was being and that I clearly had too much time on my hands, so now I'm off to watch some more anime. :p |
