Looking at the big picture, I agree the tabs are a little bit of a pain and are hard to spot for new users...so I'm excited to hear they'll be going away in favor of a more straightforward layout.
Once the tabs go away, this update will actually make a lot more sense.

How are they hard to spot? They're right there. Unless you're blind or something, i don't see how they would be hard to see.

Might there be a chance of keeping current format and simply ADDING the new parts?
Ie. small screenshots with the tabs, room for larger ones in the new place, and similar with the rest?
Essentially doubling up instead of just moving it around. Anyone managing to not spot the buttons/links/tabs then...

I would argue that, yes, they are difficult to spot. Reason being that all of that information is crammed into a box that takes up less than 15% (eye-balling, here) of the page "real-estate". With so much other information being bombarded at you (rating, recommendations, synopsis), and other distractions to look at, it's easy to miss the tiny box in the middle and the even smaller tabs at the top. This is because they don't draw attention and there's nothing that forces you to look at them other than being in the center of the page (in a place where they can be easily overlooked due to the information that's above and below). I'm sure that Sothis probably has a heat map or some other indicators that show this.

This wasn't meant to be a criticism of the current layout, sorry Sothis =x

Although I'm gonna give negative feedback for the screenshots, I want to at least thank you Sothis for all your hard work on the site.
In all honesty I don't think it's just the change that made me dislike it, I would still prefer the older version in 10 years. Not seeing the tabs is an exaggeration IMHO and means that the next step would be to sit on the user's lap and point them out to them

I think all the negative response is largely an indication of how popular/important the screenshots are to people. Stuff that nobody cares about nor uses could be completely changed and no one would notice nor give a damn, but if you change even a tiny thing about something they use all the time their reaction is "hey! don't mess with that! that's my favorite thing!"


Also, it might be a good idea to include a note about refreshing in the first post. When I first followed the link to check out the new screens system, clicking the "more" button did absolutely nothing. After refreshing the page, it worked fine.

...One little scroll. Boom, there they are. I just can't see how people would miss it. I've never had trouble spotting them.
