Default Theme dropdown in the forum

I've debated adding a theme dropdown to the top of the forum, up by where the breadcrumbs and logged in info are. It would look kind of slapped on, but at least then you could change the theme in the forum too (right now it's the only page where you can't). What do you guys think? (If you are seeing this news post on the site, please visit the matching thread in the forum (site updates) to respond).

I don't think it is particularly inconvenient to change it from another page myself. I normally enter the site from the main page and then head on to the forums. If I need a change of pace, I generally realize it when I open the site. If the only way to provide the option directly from the forums is to "force" it in, then I at least would rather hit one extra link to go back to a page where I can adjust it. You've done such a great job on the layout it seems defeatist to throw something in just to save a user one or two extra clicks. This is especially true when you consider that most users don't constantly change the theme, but do constantly read in the forums.

hmm it's a tough call. we are lazy though and would probably like to have that feature in the forums as well. since the forums are the only place that don't have that option do to the layout changes that you imposed to appease the masses that might be a good idea to put it there.

although on the same token, if you don't put it there then it forces people out of the forums once and a while to visit other parts of the site. i fall into that category of the lazy person who is forced to go to the main page to change themes :p.

It's simple really. If the skin changes on the forum, then you should be able to change it on the forum. Maybe find a way to put it on the forums with it looking neat/organized? Most vb forums have a drop down menu with themes at the bottom that look perfectly fine.

I kinda agree with Raven on this issue, if its a feature/function there should be a controll for it. And if one should get really picky (and one should with a great site like this) it should be grouped with the other controlls from a usability-point-of-view. Don't know how hard this is to make though.

But I would not call this a high priotiry issue either, im sure there are more important things that you are working on with the site right now.
