Now 'hiring' - manga database moderators and updaters!

Hello! While the anime database on Anime-Planet has been around for close to 10 years, the manga database is newer and has been in somewhat of a beta state for awhile. As manga fans know, we're missing a decent amount of manga titles, and it's hard for chapters to stay up to date given how many are released daily.

We have a small team of mods who have been doing a great job with user requests (updating chapters, adding new manga when requested, etc), but the sheer amount of stuff to do means we ideally need a big team of people constantly adding.

For this reason I'm looking to find a big group of folks who can stick around as manga moderators. Here's the types of things you'd do (and I'm open to having different groups of people doing different parts of these tasks):

1. Check sites daily for new chapter updates, and update the site
   
2. Check sites for brand new manga translated and add the entries on A-P
   
3. Start filling in missing entries
   
4. Add or update entries based on user requests here in the forum
   
5. Participate in manga database projects if they come up, such as tagging/etc

Most important are the first three - I'd like a team (or teams) of people that check sites DAILY and update chapters pre-emptively and add new entries pre-emptively, and I need a team of folks who will start bulk adding missing titles. I sometimes go on adding sprees myself and add 100 at a time, having a team of people doing this means it would go a lot faster.

In addition to being super helpful for anyone who likes manga on the site, it means I would have to spend less time adding manga, and could focus on site features. Thus, everyone wins :)

This is a volunteer position, but you will get a shiny badge. You can choose to be a chapter updater, or a full manga mod with powers to add full entries (and update chapters). Both positions involve some training.

Ideal moderators:

• Have free time, consistently, to work on the database. If you only have a week to work on this and then are busy nonstop for 6 months, this is not the position for you :)
  
• Are willing to check the mod forum anytime there's a new post, and are willing to brainstorm in process discussions (as your opinions help craft what we'll do as moderators ^_^)
  
• Have somewhat of a bedside manner for dealing with user requests ^_^
  
• Didn't join the site yesterday - since you'll have the power of adding new entries, you need to be trustworthy, which helps with account age :)

I have free time and have been reading a lot of manga lately. About 3 one shots a day or one full manhwa series a day. :P

I could also help adding manga entries and update ongoing manga. Free time i have and even though i do not update my manga list here I keep track of manga series that I like (and there are quite many). Can't really put in numbers how much I read per day, but like 2-5 volumes of a manga (or more).

out of curiosity, what is the reason you dont update your list here? is it because of the lack of some titles? (this is what i hear from most people who dont put their manga list on AP so im just curious)

I have loads of free time myself and I'd be willing to help out with ANY of those tasks as part of a team... I can't guarantee I'd be perfect for the job or anything but I would definitely try my best! :)
