And so, with episode 50 out, the show's closure is coming near.

Episode 50:

All in all, it's really good to see that a show of this caliber can do the ending in an unpredictable way like this - I absolutely love the plot twists.

I agree!!!! that was totally unexpected. i heard 51 is going to be the last episode? wonder how they are going to tie off the series. It'll probably be another season or OVA i suppose?

Well that was quite an ending. Good thing there's a movie coming out in 2005, cause that kind of ending would suck without a follow-up .

Have you noticed the pattern of mangas changed to anime? The manga ending is usually very good, but when the manga becomes an anime, the ending is usually changed to a suckier one . Take the tv series ending of Rurouni Kenshin compared to the manga ending for example. Or the manga ending of Tokyo Underground compared to the anime ending (although the manga isn't finished yet actually, but it's still turning out better than the anime ending). If they had kept the manga ending of RK instead of brining in the new, inconclusive one, it would have been much better . I'm bringing this up because the FMA ending is an unusual case of the anime ending turning out good .

Soo..i got tired of waiting for spoon and got meself nanashi subs and had a nice 14 ep marathon yesterday (i decided to stop around ep 37 since I didn't want to wait for the eps to get out before watching the next one...the 14 ep marathon is proof of that)

Awesome show! Good unpredictable ending although a bit cliché here and there, but what isn't nowadays? Wuah..i gotta say it again Awesome Show! I'll be anticipating the movie!

Anyhow, questions questions.
How much does the manga differ from the anime?
How many volumes are there?
Has it ended?

I'm thinking of collecting the manga if it isn't a direct copy of the anime (or vice versa ofcourse)

i think ive seen 5 volumes of the manga floating around thus far but im sure that there is more out. i havnt read it myself but from what ive heard it does differ a little from the manga and im sure it will surpase were the anime left off in the long run. they could take the show in soo many directions after that ending.
