Default Is there a reverse sub/dub debate in Japan?

An odd question, but bear with me here.

In the non-Japanese anime community, we often debate about whether to watch anime in the original Japanese with English subtitles or with English/whatever language soundtracks.

So I wonder: is there a similar debate in Japan on foreign works? Are there Japanese fans of American animation who think it's blasphemy to watch a Japanese dub of Adventure Time?

... That's actually a pretty good question... I think.

When I was in Japan, pretty much every cartoon on Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, or Disney were dubbed in Japanese. So I guess they don't mind. I did, though. Back then, I was a 10-year-old TV addict, therefore not understanding my Saturday morning Spongebob made me very frustrated. Had to call out my dad every time I watched something xD

In my experience everything's been dubbed unless it's just come out in cinema. Some broadcasts (of films, don't know about TV programmes) do give the option to watch in English with Japanese subtitles, but this isn't the default and I can't imagine people using it much.
