As usual, I'll get some tallies up for the general vote here in the next couple days, as well as some random thoughts and notes at some point. Obviously, the small panel led to some random oddness, and it was a bit of a step down in participation overall... going to chalk that up to some part being badly late, and some part deciding not to harass sothis for a site announcement. But still got some mostly-sound results, all things considered. Enjoy :)
 
No, it was just late and I had accidentally closed the tab and had to restart from scratch, and wound up just plain missing it -.-' Fixed.

My one wish for the awards dashed two winners in.

Surprised Gintama' didn't win for comedy, damn straight props were given to Usagi Drop for Slice-of-life, nothing compared to the manliness of Kaiji 2 and this:

Damn, I can't get this thought through. That must be some real badass reverse harem mecha shit going down.
 
Exercising my heavy bias in favour of Mawaru Penguindrum in every category unfortunately had little effect :crying:. Nah, it took out a few categories, though how it performed in the panel votes was great! Kudos panelists!


Overall though I think this is a fair reflection of things. Steins;Gate is a deserved overall winner. Most annoying character, Nessa from Fractale, nice one :laugh:. Good job to everyone involved!
 
How many participants was voting this year? It could be fun to see some statistics. :)
 
Starry Sky wasn't a particularly close runner-up, but it had enough distance from everything else (the points went 22(BB)-15(SS)-7(MF)-2-1) that I went ahead and listed it. It's kind of a vague eye-test decision thing.

^That, Starry Sky is a school-based, slice of life/harem short series. :cereal:

Star Driver on the other hand is a mecha actually.

Wait, Starry Sky didn't get runner-up then? And I thought it was the dark horse of awesome.

I'm gonna start on Mawaru tonight. I was going to wait for the BDs but I can't take it anymore. It looks so good.

edit... also sports? o_O

Kaiji should have won the award for best suspense, but I guess there was none.
 
Anime centered on card/board/etc. games are also included in the sports category every year, which is why the first season of Kaiji also won the sports category back in that year. This also means I get to look forward to Chihayafuru being in the sports category this next year. :balloon:
 
Penguindrum should have taken Best Overall but it did amazing for a latecomer to the party. Fasssshionably late, daaahling, FABULOUS MAX!

I am quite chuffed with the character results! They just all seem like the stand-out, obvious, and deserved winners. & no AnoHana characters, hurrah!

I feel like checking out Break Blade soon.

That Eiji Niizuma must be a hell of a character. I definitely need to pick Bakuman back up.

I was surprised to see Penguindrum beat AnoHana for best drama (not disappointed, just surprised).
