what features would you like in the new forum?

thought i'd split this off since some people might not be reading the other thread.

anyways, please post here with things you'd like for the new forum. these can be things you'd want or things you think might help more users post.

feel free to list forums or subforums you'd be interested in. and also, features. for example, would you want an RPG forum? how about galleries or blogs? what about images in the profiles? quick reply? ANYTHING, list it here. this will help me figure out which forum software to purchase.

i'll start:

1. better support for avatar/sig size, with an option to turn them off for users with low broadband

2. better user profile options for things like pictures, favorite anime, etc. this might replace the current picture site.

3. better admin capabilities like removing users based on inactivity, etc.

4. a way to link global announcements here with the main page of the site.

5. an RPG forum might be fun to try out

6. built in admin authorization for new posts/threads, for forums where we might need it

7. potential referral system, so i could reward users for bringing people here.

I like the idea of have an RPG forum game (played it before on another forum and it was pretty interesting ^^) one down side is that RPG forum usually requires alot of attention to it and keep it running and updated constantly

I like the user reputation on a forum (of course there will be some abuse to it so need some way to keep them fair)

I think that chats are a good way to enchant people.
The problem is that many people don'y know hot to use IRC.
Maybe a IRC Applet is a good way to collect people and create animated discussion.

i love the idea of a better way for us to admin the forum myself althougha java IRC ap would be nifty too for people who are on public comps and such

most forum softwares comes with import scripts. If there's no offical import script avaible from the forum software site, then the community well one one (if not, then I guess your out of luck).

But a good number of forum software well has import scripts for iBB, phpBB, and some others from the offical site.

My idea that I mentioned in APN 1 about the zip code/location search to find people that are in your geographical area would be pretty darn spiffy if people would list their REAL location instead of dorktastic made-up things.
I think not even 1/10th of the people on here have their real location (even approximate) listed.
I figured I'd go ahead and list it here even though I already told you (sothis) about it, just to see if people salute it when I run it up the flagpole.
