we will be always checking for new reviews to add to the site! ^_^
this is why posting in the reviews section in the forum will still be a good thing. we will still have a posted set of guidelines that you should try to follow if you want your review added to the site. The most common problems with a lot of the reviews that are posted (that would keep them from being posted) are just things like not running the reviews through a spell checker or grammar check (microsoft word does this easily), not having the reviews be long enough, or not giving enough detail in each section. if we read a review and think it's close, we'll contact the reviewer and tell them how they could improve. or if you think your reviews should be added and they aren't, just pm kamenoko or niceguy, and they can help you figure out what you can do to be better. |

you can always put the login box in a hidden div and just have a button that says "login" with a mouseover to the div tag.
see: http://public1.teaminfocus.com/ for what i mean (mouse over the "member login" button) as for the "smart search", the simplest way by far is to soundex each word in each anime title and search on that. Split each title on spaces and insert into a new table: INSERT INTO soudex_table VALUES(ANIME_KEY, SOUNDEX(word_in_title)) where ANIME_KEY is a foreign key to the titles table. Then when you want to search, split on spaces again and search as: SELECT * FROM soundex_table WHERE soundex_val = SOUNDEX('tyler') etc. The soundex function makes "tyler" = "tylor" = "talor" |

Ok. About genres. Put the genre at the END of an review. That way at least SOME people who would not even read the review, if they saw the genre at the top, will read them. If they happen to like the review they might actually see the anime too and if they like that too they might soften their own view of that particular genre. So many people miss on some very good animes because they have a bad preconception of a particular genre.
So it should be visible but at the bottom of the review. The whole idea of the review section and the reviews in the forum is excellent. on select theme dropdown there should be a random theme selection available. at least when i changed a theme from there it's static on every page and every time i log on it's the same. I can ofcourse change it by will but how can i get it to random how it was before i touched the damn go button? well, i did have something else on my mind too when i started typing but i think i'll just drop another post if i remember what it was.

yup, read the first post and some things did pop into my mind.
The opposite votes checkboxes on every vote is an excellent idea. BTW Where can I find the top voters list? I have prolly forgotten where i have previously found it since I don't seem to find it anymore. Or then again, I might just be going blind... Good riddance divided anime-planet. community and non-community separation was never that good an idea in the first place. Didn't bother me much but the site is better without it. Quotes page is brilliant. I do not like the way it's now however. some more sections should be added even. I have to think of some improvements that could be done there. Pic site is nice to have around and it should be fairly easy to find but it definitely does not need a button on that button bar. well that's it for now.

The first reason I visited Anime-Planet (seems like forever ago) was that it was the only site I'd found that contained excellent independent comparisons of fansub groups on a given show.
Also noticed that A-P seems to be frequented by a number of fansub group members, and the site message content (quality-wise) is on a much higher level than some popular boards (AnimeSuki). I do wish that some of the folks on here in fansub groups were a little more easy to identify via a tag or somesuch. Often I have a question about something in an episode or series and would like to shoot them a question. The other reason is that I might like to take a crack at the fansub process one of these days and want to contact people of a given group for advice. Just my random thoughts of the day

we had a thread once about "introduce yourselves" for the fansubbers, but no one really used it ^_^; maybe i'll make a poll again, or perhaps we could even just ask the fansubbers that visit to put their group as their location? any ideas? i think its up to the comfort level of them, but i agree that it would be nice.
maybe i could make a "fansubbers" usergroup |

Hi <-sorry lol used to using some form of address when writing stuff.
I have a suggestion for the site. I've been using the website for a while ( it by the way) and tried unsuccessfully to create an account numerous times. Last night I finally got my brain to function and tried something that worked. ![]() I tried three times to create an account using my default browser (Mozilla) and each time the website failed to send the email (and of course I nothing happened when I tried to log into the accounts I tried to create). ![]() Finally I tried to create an account using IE and I was able to create the account with no problems (same name as forum account). ![]() When I try to log into the account using Mozilla it only refreshes the webpage; I believe the same thing happened when I was trying to register for the account. Instead of registering when I clicked the button, the website just refreshed the page so the info was not sent and of course the email was not delivered. My suggestion is this: Add some kind of comment near the sign-in or on the registration page that tells people that the site might not work with Mozilla with a suggestion to try to access it with IE if using Mozilla is unaccessable. Most people are brighter than I am ( ) and will automatically think of using IE if it fails, but I'm sure there's a few people who might not think of it so this would help save us time. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I really hope that I will be able to use my account with Mozilla some day in the future.

I encountered this problem when trying to access the site in Firefox from one computer, but updating Firefox solved the issue. If you haven't already, I'd recommend updating and see if that fixes your problem.

![]() I did find a solution though. There's an add-in that creates an IE tab in Mozilla so now I can access this site using IE in my Mozilla on a tab. It was called IE Tab in the Firefox Add-ons section and so far it is working perfect. |
