A good size for sigs on forums is 350x150 pixels.

The personal sigs (ie, how much time you've spent on anime) are a much better way to go for advertising the site on other boards.
1) They're much closer to most forums sig limits. (Almost no forums allow sig images wider than about 600~650px. In most forums the limit is around 550.) 2) They aren't blatant advertisements, so the vast majority of forums will allow them. 3) They make AP seem much more interesting than the advertisement banners in this thread (especially the "time spent on anime" ones). The advertisement banners here are just bland "hey look, another anime site" stuff, whereas the user sigs actually illustrate some of what you can do with AP. Seeing the time spent on anime sigs on tv-links was what eventually brought me over here. If I had just seen any of those banner images in someone's sig, I never would have bothered. Edit: You might also want to consider userbars, they seem to be quite popular right now, and are small enough for nearly any forum to allow. Userbars are 350x19, and usually say something to the effect of "xbox360 user", "photoshop user", etc (hence the name). I've never seen a point in them myself (especially since so many of them are about something that no one cares about. Seriously, does anyone really care if someone uses photoshop?), but I did make a spoof one when I was on TVL: ![]() Userbars can be still or animated, so it could simply say "anime-planet.com user", or you could simulate scrolling text and say something like "ANIME PLANET"..."Anime Recommendation Database"..."anime-planet.com". Edit2: I just threw together a couple samples: ![]() ![]() edit 3: btw I have my user sig here on kawai radio's forums, and have it linked back to AP. http://kawaii-radio.net is a streaming anime/jpop radio station.
