Instead, the page would be as long as the forum, just as it is now... but the bottom of the site graphics would still be at the bottom of the forum.

This would require actually integrating the site design into the forum page, as opposed to just putting a frame into the existing site. I don't know how to do this, don't have time to learn, and have to focus all of my energy into the new anirec and finishing up the rest fo the site and users area, which has a looot left to do :)

so, if anyone knows anyone who is capable of doing that, and is interested, please let me know! otherwise it will need to stay as-is.
Integrating a forum software into the site without using iFrame is not difficult at all. It just uses opposite approach than iFrame.
Using iFrames you create your site design and then include your CONTENT INTO LAYOUT. (so basically you try to fit your content into your design).
Using tables and php_includes on the other side, you create your content and include your DESIGN INTO CONTENT. (you build your design around your content). Using php includes is indeed what i would call the best practice for php based sites (its my opinion tho).

The principle is simple. You divide your existent mainpage into head.php and foot.php (or heaven.php and hell.php or whatever you want). in your content you have to include in the first line your head.php and in the last line your foot.php. That's basically all.

yeah, the footer/header concept i use often, but i am not familiar enough with vbulletin's front page code or template system to know what i'd put where, what i'd replace, etc. and yeah, soooo many other priorities than that, so the offer stands that it'll get checked out if i can find someone who is capable :)

I'm not an vBulletin expert either and I don't have much time currently to learn much about it (and to be honest I'm to lazy to do that). You're right, it would be better if you could find an expert. If not... Just let it be as is for now. I'm sure you have more than enough other things to do.
