forum changes

hi folks,

i'm going to start modifying the forum styles so it'll fit in the new site frame... so if things start changing (top image gone, colors, width) no worries, it's for a reason ;)

new site launch on jan 1, at that point you'll be able to access the forum in a smaller frame via the site

This is insane - are you planning to view anime-planet forum on pda or something? ^_~

Width of main div should be minimally 800px (in the last resort). And I think 1024px would be ok too (there is always option to shrink to width - in the Opera at least).

people wanted to not have to load the forum in a seperate window for years now, so now it's in the right content frame.

I personally like the narrowed view. I constantly adjust and resize windows to see multiple things. I find it handy for the necessary view space to be smaller. It is a personal preference of course.

eventually we will have a much more customized set of forum graphics... the icons will be hand made (and might be themed meaning might be small anime icons depending on which theme you are on, etc)... so don't worry, we will still try to make it unique, but admittedly it wont have the banner on the top anymore. regardless, in the new site you should be visiting it via the regular site (which means it would show up in the content frame), as opposed to on its own. thus, the new layout is automatically original :D

definitely are! i am launching the site next sunday, 100% positive. the reviews section will be complete along with static content. new anirec will follow a month or two after, along with the new users backend :D

Also, the forum as it is now looks really plain but I trust with your new design, great things will come of it. So we'll be looking at the site and the forum at the same time?
