Monthly Marathon Quicky: Popee Edition! September 17-18

Everyone loves weird and wacky things right? Sometimes a show can be strange and wonderful... or well maybe not so wonderful... more like... WHAT THE HELL??? This marathon your anime watching abilities shall be tested greatly. I dare you to watch ANY of these titles and you better enjoy it!

When?
September 17-18.

Why?
See if you can sit through some of the strangest anime that has been made! It's only 2 days this time around!

Recommendations: Please add Recommendations for these series once you've watched them! Every single recommendation made helps out the thousands of people who use the database each month to find new stuff to watch. Everyone who participates in this Monthly Marathon should add recommendations for other series they think a person would like, if they can think of any.

User Reviews: User reviews don't have to be many paragraphs, or even have good English. They can be as little as a single paragraph just to explain what you thought of the series and any extra tips for the reader. The longer and more detailed the better, of course.

How?
Just choose a series from the list, movie or OVA and watch it! Then just post how many episodes you watched in total in the thread provided. Make sure you put COMPLETED LIST at the top of your post or it might not be counted. Counting will go as follows:

1 Episode = 1 point
1 OVA = 2 points
1 Movie = 3 points
Recommendation / User Review = .5 points
Bonus 5 points if you completely finish a series

Note: No matter how many episodes the OVA has it still counts as 2 points. If there are exceptions you will be told in the MM thread for that month.
If you start in the middle of a series (this would mainly effect current airing series) you are not eligible for the 5 bonus points for completing a series unless it is specified in the MM thread for that month.

Hrmm well I guess I have to watch Gag Manga. I'll also take Funny Pets 2, Ga-Ra-Ku-Ta, Tamala 2010 and maybe one or two other things. I might even watch the rest of the Poopy dub.

Seriously though everyone needs to watch Poopy Popee the Performer if they haven't seen it yet. It should be a requirement for this marathon. :P I mean come on it's not every day that you see an anime with themes of murder, incestuous homolust, complete insanity and more murder kindness, courage and talent.

Anyway there should be some painful groanings fun discussion going on in the Funny Pets 2 thread. It should be a fun little mini-marathon overall.

Not my weight, cockroach cake and the mutilation of Elephant Car would prevent me from eating and puking up my guts, causing my innards to deteriorate. I am 5"11 and would like some extra room for the dead man spasms. And a custom tombstone in the visage of Popee, Papi and Kedawolf with Elephant Car in the background and Ass Frog on top, all buddy and friendly. Or Popee with rapekill face and the Moon with murderface, back to back turned towards the front of the tombstone, finger's pointing.

I could switch out Cat Soup for Funny Pets, but to rewatch that again... oh god...

Hey now, there are great shows in that list. Among the short series, Gag Manga is my #9 favorite anime ever and Nekojiru Gekijou is a delightful mini-ride. Mind Game is a wonderful movie and Dead Leaves is a really entertaining batshit crazy flick. Excel Saga and Haré + Guu are respectively my 4th and 5th favorite comedies. And Puni Puni Poemy is a nice follow-up to Excel Saga while not as hilarious.


... By the way, why the hell didn't I think of signing up for the Haré + Guu OVAs?! It pained me so much to finish the franchise that I've been putting them off since before summer started. Now is the time to get my share of laughs.
