So as there was a lack of responses from me and other shit happening etc...
I thought I should give you guys something that'll teach you japanese. YouTube - HOW TO SPEAK FLUENT JAPANESE WITHOUT SAYING A WORD?????????? Furthermore: Those who want to learn plz msg me or email me at desisolja@gmail.com I'll be starting lessons on skype with Genki book from Japan times it's considered one of the best books to learn from. We'll do one lesson over 2-3 weeks, I'll teach you the grammar and then review it until you have it in your head. This has to be done on the weekend, either saturday or sunday. which ever day gets more votes wins. Please take into consideration that I cannot teach 20-30 ppl as that would make the convo impossible. It'll be group conversations of 3-5 ppl. Might have multiple sessions. When you email or message me, write in your expectations of the course, how much you want to learn, at what pace and what type of things you want to learn about the language (don't say help me translate anime). Also which day you prefer and your location/time zone. Plz don't enroll if you're going to be lazy. If you want to learn, I'll make it as easy as possible, but I expect you to keep up. Shit happens, so I won't be anal about it. I'll help you catch up, but I hope you will be sincere about it. I'll get a mic over the weekend and we can start either on 27th or 28th of this month! This is a firm promise from me. It'll be done on a weekly basis (unless if I have a major test/exam). #ap-jp @ irc.rizon.net will be the official help channel. Ketsuron is leader and resource guide, I'll try to be on as much as possible. Otherwise as a last option I might give you guys my msn (I'm on 24/7) if I'm not active on the chat. This is the best way to learn since you have to "speak" the language. Reading and writing will only take you so far. Edit: if anyone has a ventrilo server we can use please let me know. I remember using it while WoW'n and it was pretty handy for multiple people. Students: Xennon Dontais Value1k Eriol Last edited by NeX; 09-28-2008 at 03:58 PM. |

Also, if someone volunteers to do it, it's expected to be there every week. If that person isn't available then people get mad. It discourages interacting and practice. If you can listen and learn then it's really hard to pick up the language. Trust me, you'll be better at it if you interact and speak it with others. |

Yeah it would be cool if you recorded the lessons. Also, I have a 25 man vent server I wouldn't mind letting you use for this. It is usually just me and one or two friends, I could set up a pass worded channel for you guys so you wouldn't get bothered. Just pm me if you want to use it.
I would enroll, but I have a good bit of stuff going on now and wouldn't want to waste your time. |

I too would like to try out, I've studied the elementary of Japanese myself a little, but nowhere near to be enough. Thought I currently lack not only money to get the book itself, but my weekends are awfully full of things to do during midday. Since I'm currently somewhat close to employed, I don't simply want to study during middle of night in Saturday and Sunday is simply impossible.
Although if you do manage to keep things running and you get enough people, I believe I could enroll this later. I'm talking of somewhere around January 09' Thought it's not good to make promises to that far since I know very little of what's to happen me at January, so. Either way, it is indeed a great contribution to the community, shame that I'm gonna have to pass.

The schedule times are still being decided. I'll wait till everyone who wishes to join has expressed their desire to enroll. I have to choose the weekend as I'm very restricted on schedule myself due to school. Well, I don't really get paid for it lol. I've been getting pm and e-mails. Keep it up, I'll send a general pm/e-mail out mid next week, it should inform all of you what's going on etc... As for the 1st lesson, it'll be something like so: 1. Introduction 2. Expectation of the course 3. What is the Japanese language (writing, reading, pronunciation etc...) 4. Information for people wish to live/work in japan. 5. Basic vocab 10-15 words. 5. Make basic sentences in Japanese. 6. Some homework. 7. Advice on how to practice. Should be an hr, give or take a few minutes. Cheers! |

Current students: rossion Value1k Dontais I'm thinking maybe around 2-5pm EST, either on saturday or sunday. Just in case if someone is in Europe, so I can accommodate. If that's a problem please let me know. |

Xennon has also joined. So that puts the tally upto 5 students. Registration is now closed! I think 5 is enuff for now since it's only 1 class. Might consider 1 more if someone wants in to make it an even number.
I'll update thursday on where/when etc... Will send out to a pm to the people who joined in. Got a test tomorrow, wish me luck! |
