Utada Hikaru - Most known for her openings songs to the kingdom hearts series Sanctuary and Simple and clean. She makes songs in both english and japanese. Her english is perfect.
Abingdon school boys - Jrock/punk Back-on - Now this is interesting they are like the japanese Linkin Park. They mix alternativ rock with raping kind of. Orange range- The first opening in Bleach "Asterisk" is a good example of their music style kind. Pop group i would say but i can't really sort them in a genre. Nirgilis - calm songs, like no stress songs xD Tommy Heavenly6 - Punkband with a female leadsinger. High and mighy color - same as above SPLAY - One of my favorites. He sings really good. HOME MADE KAZOKU - reminds me of orange range ASIAN kung-fu generation - Really good especially "After dark" ACID - alternativ style Jrock That's my favorites, i hope i gave some kind of help :P |

I can attest to the awesomeness of High and Mighty Color - I have one of their CDs and I love nearly every song.
I also love Orange Range, Asian Kung-Fu Generation, and a bunch of others that were already mentioned. Aqua Timez is good too, they did one of the openings for Bleach as well, but I think their other songs are better. |

![]() Thanks so much Niron, zoelyn, and Garyuu for your recommendations. Sounds like punk is big in Japan! ![]() How is it everyone here knows so much about Japanese music? Is it something you've looked into yourself because of anime? Or were you brought up on it or something?

Hmm. Some I know of and enjoy myself are,
Malice Mizer (gothic)~ I believe Kamui Gackt has a solo project as well The Black Mages (instrumental/rock)~ really good if you like Final Fantasy series like me. Nobuo Uematsu is a wonderful composer known for his works in the numerous Final Fantasy games. X( aka X Japan) (Jrock)~ kindof 80ish/mid 90's sound, but I really enjoyed them L'arc en Ceil (Jpop)~ (did I spell that right?) lol relaxing :) Two-Mix (Jpop)~ (yes I admit it, I like them) known for their works on Gundam, and Case Closed This next one is a bit off the wall, but I like New Age as well: Kitaro (New Age)~ Hes a really good composer, and he has some amazing music that uses both modern and acoustic instruments (An Enchanted Evening). Absolutely wonderful if you can hear that one. Animetal (Jrock/metal)~ Love it, listening to it right now. I'm a old school Mecha fan All I can think of right now >_<; 私を許しなさい; ; |
