Default Onigiri Tips?

Hi I'm Ashely and I love to make Onigiri!

Recently though I have become bored with plain Onigiri you see...I was wondering if you guys could send me any suggestions of your favorite Onigiri for me to make! So far I have only made salmon and plain Onigiri so I'm still pretty new but wanting to develop my skills! Please give me your suggestions in this forum thanks!

Umeboshi is best filling.
You can also try frying with some tougarashi/shichimi.

There're also those clam things, can't remember what they're called.

But it reminds me:

These are also good.

Also, anything with beef or pork would be nice (but a bit boring).
Maybe cheese or kimchi would be tasty.

Do you know if Umeboshi is easy to find in Asian grocery stores? I wanted to make furikaki onigiri before and I couldn't even find that! Or even better do you know if you can make umeboshi yourself?

Tuna-mayo onigiri are my favourite, with negimiso (shallot and miso paste) onigiri coming a very close second.

If you need it, Just Bento has a run-down on popular fillings: "Popular onigiri fillings and flavors, single Bento Boys, and more"
It also links to a few recipes, such as osekihan, chicken karaage and so on.
