Didn't find anything by doing a quick forum search so I decided to create a whole new topic for discussing the tablets as platforms for manga reading.
Anyone here with manga reading experiences on any of the tablets? Tablets from the Apples iPad to the Samsungs Galaxy tab, as long as it's a tablet and you're able to read manga from it really ![]() Could you see yourself buying manga digitally or are you an "oldschool" collector who prefer your manga in the normal paperback form? I myself was wondering if anyone knew how much the average manga volume goes for in digital form? Are they a lot cheaper then their psychical counterparts? And what's a good application for reading manga on these devices? edit: I downloaded a free application from the app store for my iPad yesterday, named Manga Rock if I remember correctly. I then test read 1-2 volumes of manga and thought that it was actually pretty cool and a nice way of reading. I don't know if I would continue buying my manga in paperback form or if I should buy some digitally too, the pricing of the manga itself is pretty much the deciding factor. Discuss.

I always prefer good old paperback than any digital version, but I do read scanlations on iPhone quite often too. Depends on availability of the english version in paper. Reading on device is a more convenient when it comes to the size though.
Don't know about prices, I've never bought an ebook, I download either from scanlation group website, or, using an iphone manga reader, from sites like mangafox etc |

Okay, good to hear someones opinion on the subject. The few volumes I read were also by installing a free app and then reading manga through mangafox. I do want to support the industry tho so it would be nice to find a proper online market for them.
Btw, is animeplanet just slow on answering or are you ppl just behind the technology today?^_^ I know tablets are very expensive atm but I'm sure there's more ppl who've atleast tried reading on a tablet. General opinions, lads? Do you think the tablets are the future of reading manga and other comics? I myself could see the original paperback production fall when tablets become more common. A bit like the CDs which have been in the process of dying since the mp3. |

The best affordable option: ARCHOS
I was tempted to get one, but the performance seems a bit sluggish, I think were gonna need to wait another half\1year to get a reasonable price for a good tablet! then.. there's no doubt I'm gonna start reading manga on daily basis, as for now, I'm gonna keep using the PC and of course, buying some Manga I really think it's worth to collect |
