-Hi, do you have the first volume of Attack on Titan?
-Sorry, it's sold out. ....... ![]() Probably the first time I'm glad to hear that.

Dunno what kind of store you went to, but I had a similar incident just a few days ago with Blue exorcist.
Not a single volume was on the shelves, and I had seen a ton of them there a month earlier. Sold out, probably as a new volume hit the shelves or something. DMT: I noticed that online scanlations of the Spice & Wolf manga are censored. Fucking laaaaaaame! Well then, now I have even more motivation to go ahead an order volume 2 and so forth. |

There's usually plenty of stock for new volumes, and my city is pretty small and very lacking on people with this hobby...
So if it succeeded here I'd expect it also did in places with bigger fandoms, which makes me a happy panda. Seems there's more than bleachtards and narutards in this country, after all.

Dunno. You're from Spain. The city where the shop I was in(Trondheim) has about 180000 citizens, and I dunno how much that is by Spanish standards.
Being from a country with a low population, my perception of "big" is quite different. Well, the shop isn't a manga-only shop. Manga probably only makes out a fourth to a fifth of the stuff they sell, though they recently moved to a new place that is way bigger than their previous one, and the amount of stuff they have has also increased, including manga. A few years ago, their store in Oslo moved to it's current location, and that one is quite freaking huge compared to before, so it appears to be a thriving business. They seem to have kind of a low amount of each individual volume in stock though, which is kinda frustrating when I live somewhere entirely different, and can't just come by whenever I feel like it to see if they've got new stock. Still, seeing every Blue Exorcist volume gone was quite different than some individual volumes being sold-out. Such stock holes are also annoying in the fact that they may prevent me from buying any volumes if I want to try a new series. I don't feel like buying volumes 1, 2 and 4, and not knowing when I'll be able to fill that hole. And sometimes it is simply volume 1 itself that is gone. I was going to try Pandora Hearts, but volume 1 was gone. I wish they had a bigger stock for at least the first five or so volumes of any bigger series. Still, their collection is steadily increasing. It already seems like the manga section of the store is too small. I think they need at least another one of those small aisles if they are going to introduce any new series at all, which they do. But I'm not sure there's enough space without making it really stuffy. I'm eager to see every time if they have something new and/or something "new". They have the first volume of Haganai, which is new. They've also gotten the complete Parasyte series, which is "new". DAT: The new Maga-Tsuki chapter is an... odd one. All of a sudden there's way more nudity than before, including nipples. Last edited by BrainBlow; 12-25-2012 at 05:48 PM. |
