This year's 42nd issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is announcing on Saturday that six "legendary" shonen manga creators will contribute one-shot manga, starting with the 45th issue on October 9. The "Top of the Super Legend" lineup are the following:

Issue 45 (10/9): Masashi Kishimoto (Naruto)
Issue 46 (10/18): Hideaki Sorachi (Gintama)
Issue 47 (10/25): Takeshi Konomi (The Prince of Tennis)
Issue 48 (11/1): Kyosuke Usuta (Pyu to Fuku! Jaguar)
Issue 49 (11/8): Osamu Akimoto (Kochira Katsushika-ku Kamearikouen-mae Hashutsujo)
Issue 50 (11/15): Akira Toriyama (Dragon Ball)
Kishimoto will draw "Bench!!," a "hot-blooded baseball manga."

Just saw this by chance since I hardly ever read ANN.

I'm only really interested in Sorachi's one-shot. He's good at them, as it was shown with ''13'' and the other two one-shots included in the first two Gintama volumes. I look forward to the laughs

Kishimoto's only piques my curiosity on a slight level, and so does Kyousuke Usuta's (since I liked a lot his Sexy Commando, but Pyuu to Fuku Jaguar was rather crappy).

I don't really care about Toriyama, Akimoto or Konomi. But I can't judge Konomi since I haven't watched Prince of Tennis yet.

Here's a scan with the main chars of the six oneshots:

No matter how much of a Kishimoto fan one is, everyone's gotta admit that design sucks monkey balls.

Sorachi's looks unworldly badass. I can't wait *^*

And wow, what's with Akimoto's? That's unexpected, that style is so unlike him. Looks like your average nowadays manga instead of a 70ish styled one. I might check it out just because it surprised me.

Toriyama's character looks extremely uncool and emo. We could make an ExpoComic in that forehead, too.
