These days, it is just as easy to access manga online as it is to find streaming/torrented anime. I find it much more convenient to have a physical copy of manga, however. With anime acquired online, I can burn it to a DVD and watch it anywhere, but with manga, I need a PC. Thus, I've recently started purchasing manga here and there, but the cost is building up quickly, especially for longer serials. When you get into 10+ volumes (many reaching much higher), it becomes unrealistic to buy an entire story without dropping a pretty penny. I make decent money, but I'm also paying my way through college, so I don't have a large amount of money to spare.
Any good suggestions? I checked out the Vendor forum, and I found some good sites (which I've ordered from a few times), but many seem very pricey. Are there any sites that offer discounts if you buy all the volumes at once? |

I buy my manga at: local bookstore and local gaming/anime store called Gamezilla. Then there's Chapters when I'm out of town.
I find my monthly Shonen Jump everywhere, usually the drug store or small newspaper/magazine places. And I think I've gotten a few at anime cons. |

Call me old-fashioned but I prefer reading manga in book form rather than online (not that I don't read online of course hee hee). I tend to get my manga from either the internet (amazon, book depository and anime-on-line), Orbital Manga or Forbidden Planet.

If I read a manga online and enjoy it, I buy it when/if it's released over here.
I'm in England, and we get manga long after its release in Japan, and even quite a while after it's release in America ;___; So I always keep up with manga online, but owning the actual books is more satisfying. I buy my manga from Waterstone's, or Borders. I have to drive further for Borders, but the range there is much better~ :D |
