Note (Thursday, January 21, 2010): This thread is so outdated it hurts. I'll be creating a new thread later this week or next containing better apps and such. I'll update this post with a link, of course.
-Lemur Note 2 (Tuesday, October 12, 2012):... Ok. The thread never happened. Well, anyway, very long story short: The app Comiczeal is awesome. Far better then anything else on the appstore. Get it and ignore the rest of this post. ![]() iEnvision is a online image viewer and server side viewer, meaning that you will need a 3G or Wifi connection to use it. But what it does is connect you to an utterly legal repository of over 1500 manga. (This is my rough count. Feel free to correct me) It has other categories too, but truthfully, I don't really touch them. Its interface is -very- nice, a tap opens or closes a navigation menu, a pinch zooms (and with insane resolution), a swipe moves you around the comic, and a flick brings you to the next page (Or you can use the Navigation menu) Now, Admittedly, It has some very painful drawbacks. Perhaps the biggest of which is the fact that- for all the shiny goodness of the iPhone, it Isn't paper. If you are used to paper, it will get some getting used to. Along with that, it costs 10$ (5$ today, as its Black Friday). A low cost if you think about it, but it is still quite pricey for an iPhone app. Anyway, a great Manga reader, and a legal alternative to many other methods. Get it here Last edited by Lemur; 10-12-2010 at 12:43 AM. |

Dunno why I bother, but no, of course downloading scanlations (like Omamori is) via a software vendor does not make them legal.
iPhone is ridiculously expensive in Germany, but I'm thinking of buying a Touch for eBook reading. |

If you visit envisions website, youll see that the manga are licenced for allowes use by envision. This is the appstore we are talking about. They removed an app from google for possible legalities. Apples approval team is scary and efficiant. (lee is watchig us all)

I'm fine with you using iEnvision, just don't argue that you're supporting the creators or that they couldn't sue you if they wanted. |

I had a huge post typed out, citing liability laws and US copyright law cases, when I figured out this is the internet and nobody cares.
![]() So instead of further meat throwing and citing OCCILA (Or whatever it is), I instead shalt say: Meh.

Sprint instinct > iPhone
I dislike the iPhone entirely. It was originally released running on 3 year old cell phone technology effectively making it one of the biggest secret stinkers in the cell line, but due to apples epic advertising and Steve Jobs ass-kissers it sold like hot cakes because no one took time to research the shitty specs. =/ |

Owning one, I can definitively say that any shitty spec's it has are invisible. (Im posting on mine right now. xD)
However, I have to admit: I hate AT&T. God, I'm almost to the point of jailbreaking. AT&T has no service around my house. >_< |

I hope you are aware it's not AT&T's fault that they have the iPhone. All of the other cell phone companies turned down apple because Apples demands for giving them the iPhone were too... bullshit. Basically they wanted full control over the business portion of the phone. In essence allowing them to have the iPhone on their network would give apple complete control over their company. Blame apple for being too stingy. AT&T was their last major network chance and ATT sucked it up quickly once proposed because they are literally at the bottom of the food chain for cells. It was an attempt at saving their company.
