Default Any Manhwa readers?

I know that a lot of people read manga, but do any of you read Korean graphic novels? I do, and the ones that I've read are awesome. Currently I'm reading Faeries' Landing and Chronicles of The Cursed Sword.

I'm reading one, Bride of the Water God. I like the artwork and the story so far.

I've only come across one so far and I really disliked the artwork. I'm not against giving them another try, but I don't know about any to go check out. They're not as popular and available as manga.

They probably aren't as popular because they rarely are adapted into a show. That is probably why manga is so popular, because of the popularity of anime. I suggest giving Faeries' Landing a try. I've seen it at Borders, so it is probably one of the most available manhwas. Also, you can get it on amazon.com really cheap. So far I bought 6 volumes off of there, and they were all under $1.50 (all in perfect condition too).

I looked into that one a little bit. It looks pretty interesting. It might be something I would check out once I finish with the series I'm reading now.

I looked up Faeries' Landing and it looks interesting and I like faeries so I'll check it out. Thanks for the suggestion.

So Amazon is good with shipping mangas... erm manhwas? The most recent stuff I've ordered arrived damaged, but then it was this huge hardcover book. Maybe paperbacks do better during shipping?

No. When the first came out I decided to ignore them without even looking. There's so much Japanese stuff already that I can't afford starting another hobby.

Never heard of it prior to this thread.
After reading this thread, I went & found some scans to try out. Seems largely the same as manga, just originating from korea instead of japan.

but can you really consider it a different hobby, when they are so similar?

Since most of the stuff is sold by individual people, it really depends on the seller. I've mostly have had good luck on there, but once or twice I was sold a bad product. I always read seller reviews before I buy anything off of there.

It's a convenient point to draw the line necessary to keep me sane and out of debt.

With japanese comics I can appreciate some of the cultural background (if applicable) and get closer to the jokes and what-have-you by reading the original. But I know zilch about Korea and very little about their language.
