stock market, lottery, las vegas are all a bunch of thieves who fool many unsuspecting sheep into giving them all their money voluntarily. I say sheep because all we do is feed them and we end up with nothing. what about income taxes and sale taxes? another scam, no one should be taxed. I hate giving my money away to complete stranger and trusting the government to do whatever they want with it. everytime a cop pull you over for something stupid is because he's being paid with your income, it's no one but our fault really. why are so many desperate to have more money? because we are already fucked to begin with being heavily taxed and constantly paying bill, may as well invest all our money or gamble it and try to strike it rich which only 1 in a billion are able to achieve!!!
what about tattoo and piercing? again, another thieves taking money from those who have been influenced that it is beautiful, feel good and that it's well worth the money paid.

*looks at her beautiful cyborg tattoos*
*looks at her beautiful piercings*

you seem to make a lot of blanket statements. how are you going to judge why people get such things? some people get them to be "cool", others, to be "different". personally, mine stem from a deep rooted desire to be a cyborg, that ive had since i was little. i watched a lot of sci fi growing up, and it has always fascinated me. i never had people brainwashing me that it was "beautiful", or any such thing.

tattoos arent worth the money paid? i guess that depends on if you even spend a lot of money on them, or why you get them, or who you get them from. all of mine were given to me from a girl i grew up with who does amazing biomechanical artwork. my backpiece should have easily cost me 4,000 dollars.. i paid around 700. so what? its permanent. im guessing you have spent more money on computers which become depreciated, than i have spent on PERMANENT things to do to my body. talk about hypocritical.

Have to agree with sothis on this one cool_laid.... you simply make too many blanket statements that also don't seem to have much thought put into them.

In terms of your topics like taxes, etc..... there are legitimate answers to those questions, and they are part of a society advancing to a point that it does need taxes to pay for the things the citizens want and expect to be provided.

You can of course go back to times when people weren't taxed at all, and there are still certainly places around the world you can still find places like this, if you want to take personal responsibility for everything.

But when a large modern country continues to develop, you have a lot of infrastructure..... something needs to pay for things like the defense of people, protection against crime and fires, health care, transportation, highway and road maintenance, etc.

And different countries of course take this to different levels. Some European countries, for example, have very high tax rates, but provide even more services and support to their citizens.

Generally though, it all comes down to what the citizens of the country end up wanting. If people got to the point that they didn't care about having things like health care, anyone to protect against crime, anyone to maintain and build roads and highways, etc..... then yeah, you could probably get rid of taxes completely...

Regarding the point about tattoos and body piercings..... trying to associate a financial motive to them is pretty bizarre..... tattoos and body piercings and other body moficiations have been part of human culture and society for thousands of years, for religious, cultural and personal reasons..... there are clearly a lot of different reasons people do it, but it is clearly a lot more than that tattoo and piercing professionals of the world influencing people to spend their money on it.

Anyway though... as sothis said, you simply make too many sweeping statements when the issues involved are often more complex. If you REALLY care about the answers or understanding them, you can study more history and find out.

But otherwise, please spare us all from this kind of stuff.

yea.. i really do think its ironic that you assume tattoos and piercings have only been around as long as conventional money has existed. body art has been around for thousands of years... go research it a bit.

I know exactly how cool laid feels. This one time, I got a tatoo, and then it just washed off in the shower! I was so mad, until somebody told me that you don't usually pay less than a dollar for a real tatoo.

I wondered a little why it didn't hurt at the time, but I just assumed that I was surpassing my human limitations of pain and becoming something more.

By the way, we feed sheep, and in return we get wool. That is hardly nothing. Also, we tatoo sheep for a reason, to mark the owner/flock/serial number. Please read up on barnyard care in addition to body art.
