I was playing a game called Odysseus (i think thats how its spelled).
Anyways it similar to the old zelda from nintendo.. (I liek turn based RPGs tho) I was wondering if there was any software that is around to help make a turned based RPG... or a zelda one would be nice I guess. The reason I do not use Ody is because it gives me weird errors.. like all the GUI is bunched together and overlapping and I cant DO anything to create my wold because of it.. |

My only qualms about RM2k and RM2k3 would be that due to the widespread cracking, translation, etc. of the software, a retail release was never made available state-side... Now I know many people say "you buy software?" well.. yeah, unless it's open source. Call me an idiot, but what incentive does a company have to make and develop software if they can't make any money off of it? I know there are a ton of RPG Maker 2000 and 2003 downloads and resources available. It's great if you just want to make a game to show to your friends or prove you could... however if you want to try marketing the game, you have a licensing nightmare ahead of you. If you really want to take the time to code a game, you might as well get a group of friends with the right talents to help you... my best friend started an RM2k game over a year and a half ago, a solo project, and has only just recently seen it through to its completion.
