What ruined your day?

Probably around 9 months a year I live by myself. I have enough money to cover most of the expenditures, most of that money coming from my parents while some of it is part of my own assets. If I'm really sick my girlfriend, or neighbor usually comes over and takes care with me and uses the house.

It's not like those bachelor pads in anime though. I mean I think 7 washrooms is a bit too much for 1 person

I've lived without seeing my parents often since I was around 10. Of course I didn't live by myself at that age; my parents hired a care taker for me and were at home a bit more than now. As I got older they just got busier and busier.

which is why watching all those male protagonists living in their bachelor pads in anime always amused me.

I don't even know why it's so common in anime, I mean it's a rarity in Japan, in fact it's a rarity everywhere. Without knowing better people might be led to believe it happens often in Japan or something because it seems every damn Japanese high schooler lives alone in anime.

I want to make clear that I don't have any feelings of resentment towards my parents. I have enough respect for them to not do that. They just do what they have to do. Although I'm not sure about the laws but I think what they did may have been illegal. I don't know the policies on leaving a child unattended for prolonged periods. Not sure if it was 15,16 or 18 in Canada. Maybe I'm wrong and no such laws exist.

You mentioned it before, you have your girlfriend and neighbors looking out for you if needed. So it should be all good. It's not like your parents abandoned you or anything... :)

There was more than that on the box. It also said:

Me and my Dad have this unhealthy habit of insulting each other at almost every opportunity it's pretty funny for us. I remember there was this one time where my parents and I were all together (happens once in a blue moon) and my mom didn't know about this game we had between each other. All hell broke loose that day.
