And I hated how weak Gasol was for a while. Every time he touched the ball there was a 75% chance he'd miss or lose it, but he really stepped up last year. The Celtics are a really good team, I just happen to hate all the players and coaches, except for maybe Garnett. Same goes for the Pats and Red Sox, but with no exceptions. |

I grew up watching the Cowboys, my dad is a huge fan, so I do always root for them, unless there going against my Colts. My dad had a few choice words when they choked these past couple years.

So I was a bit bitter at the Sonics/Thunder. I still wish them grave misfortune... maybe another loosing season would be nice. As for the lakers... Sorry Godfather. Just not a big fan of them either. Was happy to see that Kobe becomming more a team player is what made them finally win it. (well that and Gasol) I thought it was interesting, that at one point the play-offs were filled with only teams that had player/or players who played in the Olympics. Maybe it does pay to play for gold =) What do you think of Shaq? Do you really think he is enough for the Cavs to win it? |

Honestly I think they're gonna be tough to beat next year with the addition of Shaq. He may be old but I really think he has something to prove next season and being on a team that he knows has a good chance of winning it will only motivate him more. I don't know if he's enough, but it's basically do or die. LeBron is either winning a championship next year or he might leave Cleveland. The LeBron and Shaq combo is gonna be tough to beat and I'm pretty sure the reason the Lakers made the move for Artest was to give Kobe some backup should the Kobe vs LeBron & Shaq final happen next year. The Cavs are gonna have to put up with a few contenders in the East with the Bulls, Magic and Celtics. I think thanks to the losses the Bulls(Ben Gordon) and Magic(Turkoglu) took, the Cavs might have a good chance against them, but with Garnett back, it's definitely gonna be a Cavs vs Celtics East. Either way, it's gonna be crazy dude |

Yeah Celts/Cavs as long as there is no injuries this year. I like what barkley called last year, The Garnet Injury Sweepstakes. |

Lmao, very true. The East seems pretty easy to figure out while the West is still a bit of a toss-up. Lakers gotta be the faves, but the Nuggets, Jazz, Rockets, Spurs always put up a decent fight. The Spurs are pretty old now though, so next season might be the last they actually have a shot at winning it all. 09-10 is gonna be a go for broke season for many teams, it's gonna be a fun. Also in 2010 there's the possibility of Wade leaving the heat for the Bulls, which would be insane. We might someday hear: "Rose to Wade!"

Huge sports weekend went by and I hadn't had a chance to say anything about it, but I'll try now. I'll divide it into days
Saturday Started with some big college football games. Florida vs Tennessee, Texas vs Tech, and as a USC fan, USC vs Washington. Lane Kiffin had to put up or shut up against the Gators on sat after all the smack he was talking, which really built this game up. The game actually turned out a lot closer than I thought it'd be, but the Gators still came out on top as expected. I don't really believe much in moral victories but if they exist, Kiffin and the volunteers earned one just for keeping the score respectable. Texas vs Tech was a rematch of a bowl game last year where Tech actually came out on top, so this was an interesting game to see. Texas pretty much dominated Tech who was now lacking their number 1 receiver (Michael "holdout" Crabtree) for a win. Lastly, a game I thought would be uneventful since its USC vs a relative nobody in the Washington Huskies. Well, it turned out being terrible. With Barkley hurt Corp took over the offense at QB and couldn't really do shit. So USC loses the game on a game winning field goal and pretty much ensures that we won't have a title at the BCS this year(again). I'm kinda tired of USC losing to no-name teams and playing their way outta the BCS every year. Then came Mayweather vs Marquez and UFC 103 I'll start with 103. Very uninteresting and uneventful. Only watched to see would happen to Cro-cop and he lost (again). So eh. Oh yea, Rich Franklin got knocked out. The atmosphere for Mayweather Marquez was crazy. Chants, yells, people trying to make 200 dollar bets on a fighter who was obviously losing. I waited half a year to watch this fight and have liked Marquez for a long time, as well as hated Mayweather for a long time. So it boggled my mind how the man who obviously had the fight of the year for 09 back in January (Marquez vs Diaz) could look so outmatched, weak, and downright pitiful against Pretty boy Floyd. Round 1 was them just feeling each other out, but by round 2 Marquez was on his ass after Floyds whicked leaping left hook to the face. After that Marquez kinda went away and I was temped to take that 200 dollar bet, but even in defeat I was still hoping for a wild punch to catch Mayweather and knock him out for the Marquez win. Even if he didn't deserve it. I wanted to see JMM vs Pacquiao 3 but i guess that will never happen. As a boxing fan I'm still looking forward to Pacquiao vs Cotto which should prove to be much more action packed and full of fireworks in comparison to Mayweather vs Marquez. This is also the only fight that might be able to dethrone (Marquez vs Diaz) for fight of the year. Should be great to watch and not to mention that there is a great chance that the winner of this fight will face Floyd Mayweather and I know the world is waiting for (Mayweather vs Pacquiao) which would be the super-fight of the century. So the best is still to come. |
