If an opinion of ONE person is nothing more then an opinion based on known facts, known by that ONE person and events of ONE person, then we must conclude that ONE person is right. Unless, ofcourse, he or she is lying and betraying his or her -self. So what can we conclude out of all of this:
1. Don't wine when someone has an opinion different from yours. 2. Do NOT try and break that person's mind, opinion and confidence. Just because I just broke yours. 3. Yes I do have too much time on hands. I do think too much about this. 4. Every opinion is nor true or false, just a combination of beliefs, facts and memories of events that occured to each of our lives (and how we experienced it). Final conclusion: People with more life experience and the better understanding of things and people are probably 'righter' then you are. This is only an opinion and it is not true if your read the top. Confusing isn't it? ![]() ![]() ![]() The worst is that I probably forgot things... |

Serious post, on this forum?
But yeah, an opinion is what you make of it. Regardless of basing it on fact or not an opinion is your own conclusion. The evidence may not be laid out infront of you, even the most blatant knowledge can be challenged. Edison's idea to use AC for electric currents was contended by Tesla and Westinghouse's idea that DC was more stable. It was Edison's opinion that AC was the best etc. Get the idea? :P |

Just because a person says his or her opinion doesn't mean thet he/she is right. Your entitled to have your own opinion, but that doesn't mean that one should just go around telling things that are obviously wrong. Say that I believe monkeys can fly. Then that's my honest opinion, but it doesn't mean that it's rigth. Have you ever seen a monkey flying around? |

I understand what you are getting at, but it doesn't really work like that. An opinion is based off of what that person believes, and a belief can easily be proven wrong once presented with proper facts.

Opinions are always correct. That is true. But I think people's definition of opinion is a little bit off. An opinion is something like "I like this smell". That is an opinion. "Monkeys can fly" is a belief. It is not your opinion that monkeys can fly. Though it could be your opinion that you'd want monkeys to be able to fly. There's a difference.
