Default Ukagaka: Anime Pseudo artificial intelligence

First, this is nothing new...but its quite interesting...

What they are?

Pseudo AI with a anime tematic that can make conversations and have many utilities for your desktop...like an artificial intelligence.

I think wikipedia can explain it better than i:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ukagaka

Here are some images...

How they work:

Normally they are divided in 2:

The plataform that is going to run the character (that can or can not an anime character, depending of the person that makes it)

And the second one is the anime character (called ghost) that seem to have a pseudo artificial intelligence (obviously you can make it say what you want and how you want), I think the term "skin" can be applied for describe it...

It seems that most of the ghosts are made in japanese...and find one in english is almost impossible (tryed it, found nothing)

According to wikipedia is "easy" make one, and i think its true except for few parts that are hard if you don't know japanese...

Ghosts are divided in 2 parts:

-Master
-Shell

Master is where are all the texts/dlls and probably the shiori (the ghost personality), apart of make it say what you want, you can program how is going to say something: "happy", "angry" or how te react to a certain situation...

The shell is where are the drawings are (the anime drawings)

Is not as simple as translate an existing ghost for make one in english BECAUSE OF COPYRIGTH RULES. Its better to make one.

According to wikipedia there are many programs that allow you to create a shiori, one of those is the kawari.

Well, i tryed to make one and understood most of the proccess but can't make the shiori...

Well...i found this interesting so i decided to post it

Using these is just a waste of time, but tinkering with the AI can be fun. Unfortunately the Japanese are hopelessly backwards in managing such stuff: horrible web sites, scarce documentation, outdated tools, crappy BBS for communication ^^;

So true.

Also the first thing that came to mind after reading this thread is "Bonzi Buddy" It was cool and fun at first, but got annoying real quick. Try getting all traces of it off your computer when you got tired of it. It was a real challenge.
