As the title says i need some help, tried to ask for help where i D/Ld them from but the ppl there are on vacation it seems (+ i'm a very impatient man :P )
I am on a site which lets you D/L fansubs i think it is called of anime. On some of them you have dual audio which should let you chose between english and japanese voices. I'll give you some hints on how it seemed on the info(not that i understand that much of it) [E-D] Magical Meow Meow Taruto (Dual Audio) Audio: English / Japanese Vorbis, ~96 kB/s 2.0 channel Subtitles: English softsubs, Main Dialogue and Songs/Signs (DVD imagesubs) So as the text says on this one i should get japanese dub and english sub. Problem with all the dual audio anime's i've D/Ld i get only english dub and no sub nor any option to chose. Can it be that all my players are uncorrectly set or can it be that it is a codec i am missing? If anyone can help me or hint me to the correct way i'd be deeply greatfull. Sorry for my bad english. |

I think this is actually against site rules.
You're not allowed to discuss how to get anime illegally through downloads. I think for any member to inform you would break the rules, so try not to put people in that position. Definitely read the forum rules before you get much into posting in here. There are very few (only five or six of them) but they are very important and very strict.

1) Discussing issues with how to play downloaded videos isn't against the rules. You're not allowed to talk about where/how to actually download the stuff, but if you've already downloaded it, talking about playing it is fine.
2) To the original question: You do of course need to have all the right codecs to watch a vid, but that wouldn't affect your ability to choose audio/subtitle streams. (If the problem was a codec, you wouldn't have ANY audio. It's not like the japanese audio uses codec A while the english one uses codec B, they both use the same one.) You need to select the audio & subtitle streams from within your player. Exactly how to do this varies from player to player, plus some players aren't capable of it at all. As a rule of thumb though: look in the menubar at the top of the player, usually under either navigation or audio, and you should find something that says "select stream" or something to that effect. Subtitle streams may be listed under "video". If you can't find anything there, right click the player & look through the menu which appears, you should be able to locate something along the lines of "subtitles->select" and "audio->select stream".

I don't think it's contradictory, but I do think it's somewhat iffy. My guess is you're probably skirting dangerous ground where the rules are concerned.
Although, to be fair, the rules only explicitly state that there should be no talking about WHERE to download anime. It doesn't state what should happen if you've already got it and are having playback issues.
