Definitely the best present for me.

Golden Retrievers are the best dog you could ever get. Especially for a kid. They're so gentle you don't ever have to worry about leaving the dog and the kid unattended. I've never seen a Golden Retriever hurt a kid even when the kid was pulling at it's fur and tail. They're real easy to train as well.

coolest thing i ever got has to be the computer my folks got me when i was about 6
it was a Sinclair ZX Spectrum 48k , the one with the rubber keys

Hmm I think on an overall level, my coolest christmas present was my 10 megapixel fuji digital SLR camera complete with 2gb memory card, case and rechargeable batteries. Plus it has a moveable screen on the back so that you can angle it - makes it brilliant for animating with :D Oooo and 2 macro modes. I love taking macro shots.

Ooo, although my parents did take me to Disneyland Paris for my 9th birthday, that was pretty damn cool - I still idolised Disney at that point.

On a FAAAAR more geeky note last year I got the most adorable Kyo Kara Maoh figures from a friend and some Spirited Away figures from another friend. My friends rock.

Edit: The coolest present I've ever given was a present for a friend's birthday and I gave them a DVD with a Have I Got News For You Mock-up on it. We both absolutely love the show and we went to see it together once, but she's been quite a few times. I had her hosting and had a couple of her favourite panellists on it. Made the questions about her, animated their mouths (rather badly) and got some people to do the voices (again badly). And I did it all with a funky menu, ooo and a special DVD extra of a little stickman animation of my friend. She loved it and apparently still watches it to this day hee hee.

I also can't remember anything particularly cool I gave anyone. Oh, wait - black dildos to my two friends that were celebrating birthdays at the same time. And I recalled cool gift i received - on my 18th birthday we made huge party and all kind of people dropped on us. Some we didn't even know. Like that tall skinny guy with waist-long crow black hair and with tattooed thorn crown on forehead and huge crucified Jesus on back. He entered party eyes unfocused and when I approached him to find out WTF he looked at me, said "So, this is your party? Best wishes" then he gave me present and proceeded to party crowd. I got bizarre psychedelic photo paining of faces grown together with foreheads.

Best present I ever recieved was a tuppaware box from my Dad. He is completely usless at thinking up presents, so just stuffed it with cash (one of the perks of being a spoilt only child).

Best present I ever gave I think was last years for my fiance. He drives a Lotus Elise, and loves it to bits, so I managed to find some hand made, sterling silver Elise cufflinks. The detail is stunning on them, and people always ask where he got them

when i was 16 my mom bought me a marlin 30-30 rifle very nice gun. she also helped me buy my first pistol which i still have , a browning hi-power 9mm she had to sigh for it as i was only 18.
