Mega Video Limit Solution!!!!!!!!

I just found out this neat trick from my buddy.. Don't know if this is already known or not. All you do is start the vid then pause it and let it buffer all the way. Then press standby on your modem (or unplug it if you don't have a standby button)and watch the movie off/line. The obvious drawback is that you are offline but, you can do this all-day if you want to have a marathon Megavideo session without that annoying video limit crap.

If going offline is the key, then simply setting your browser to offline mode after it fully buffers should have the same effect & be much quicker & easier. This can usually be found under file->work offline.
(There are of course ways to download the vids & bypass the limit that way, but discussion of downloading vids isn't allowed here on a-p.)

Not sure what limit you have in mind; When streaming I generally just hit pause on 5-8 and let them load while I watch another.

I'm talking about MegaVideo's new policy of you can only watch 1 hr of video then you have to wait 2 hrs before you can watch more. They've gotten a little bit lax with it though (usually 2 hrs before the kick in the limiter on you). It's really useful to people like me who have trouble watching veoh.

I have problems watching megacrap. They added some popup code into their embedded players a while back, and now any time I try to watch an embedded vid, the page gets replaced with some lameass singles ad. This used to happen when watching vids on their site but not with the player. I've found a way to remove the obnoxious code from their site, but there's no way to remove it from the embedded player.

i havnt had a problem with their popups since i installed ad block plus in firefox

I also use ABP, and 99.9% of popups don't exist for me, but megavid's crap is damned ornery. Don't know what they do that others don't (and I hope no other sites figure it out).

It's usually not that much of a pain for me. I got it set to were pop-ups pop-up in a new tab. And soon as it does I click the tab with the middle-button on the mouse (which closes it). That zaps the "find whores" ad before it even gets a chance to load.

I also use proxomitron for various reasons, and I found a way to use it to make those popups close on their own almost immediately, using a javascript auto-close code. I am now no longer bothered by megasuck & their lousy popups. ^_^
