Veoh no longer available

What I'm wondering is why Serbia though. Out of all countries why the little one with next to know anime watchers. Have they made Veoh available to only a few selected countries and blocked the rest?

as to why... who knows for sure, perhaps they didn't get any hits from that area of the world and wanted to save on over head per month... not sure how it's even possible to selectively deny countries access from a site but I do know China can selectively deny sites as they so choose. *shrugs*

Filter based on IP ranges I would assume.

Blocked Country Discussion - Veoh Forum

Unfortunately Veoh will be ending service in your country due to a low concentration of users. Veoh is maintaining markets when we have the highest concentration of viewers.

I fail to see the purpose behind that. The internet is on-demand, which means that if only 2 people in a country use a site, then that site only has to pay for the traffic to those 2 people. I could understand blocking a country that gets too -much- traffic, but too little traffic makes no sense at all.

Apparently at least 165 countries have been reported blocked, and some veoh spokesman supposedly stated that all but 33 countries were blocked.

a quick google brought up a list of banned countries with the following sanctimonious 'reason': Re: Veoh blocked certain countries?

Edit: what i could imagine is, that for example like iran or north korea were on the banned countries is that there is a law in the us which forbids business with certain classified 'bad' states, but that doesnt explain the rest on the list

Scared the hell out of me as well.

And also, I've heard that the sereis which have officially come out on DVD are supposed to be deleted. Don't know if it's true though. This seems to be mostly true thugh since alot of shows disappear of Veoh when the final episode has been aired. At least the english subbed ones.
