The Angry Video Game Nerd banned from youtube

Eh, i watched one angry nerd vid once. The concept was good, but way overdone. Having litterally every 2nd or 3rd word be "****" is fun when you're 14, but it's just boring now. (I'm not some prude who hates swearing, it's just that everything has it's limits.)
(Actually, it may have been more than one, unless he puts several different things in 1 vid. I remember one about duckhunt, the power glove, and dragon's lair on the nes.)

My problem with AVGN is not his liberal use of the F word, but his overuse of stock phrases. They usually follow the phrase "I'd rather..." and usually involve some sort of fecal matter and one of his orifices.

Put simply Yahtzee is by far the superior internet video game reviwer.

I actually do find this quite surprising, even more surprising than LittleKurihbo getting banned.

Also, I've only seen the "irategamer" once, but yeah, he was pretty terrible.

Yup, Yahtzee is much better. Though I'm not sure I'd call them reviewers, since they mostly concentrate on the shows, rather than the games themselves. Or maybe I'm nitpicking.

Never heard of irate gamer or yahtzee before (not counting the dice game ;) ). Yahtzee doesn't sound like my type though, I like the oldskool games from the 8 & 16 bit eras.
I watched the angry nerd again, and the main thing I don't like about it is the way he goes off on rants of

"this is diarhea **** toast in my ear, shitting through my dick"

(I put that in a spoiler because I think it's a little too much to be posted here openly, lets just say that this guy has an unhealthy fascination with fecal matter.) instead of concentrating on the game review. His perpetual fecal fascination would be bad enough if he kept focus on the game while ranting about it, but constantly moving the focus away from the game just for his self-important rants about **** toast....


While I don't care for the guy's work, I don't agree with youtube banning him. It's essentially a "I don't agree with what you say, but you have a right to say it" situation. The only potential reasons I can see for youtube banning him are the huge ammounts of profanity, orsupposed copyright issues for showing clips of the games. Neither one holds any water, but then again, that rarely matters to people/places like that.

^ I hope you realise though, that James Rolfe is actually one of the most rational and intelligent people (actually he's probably the most) that I've ever seen on Youtube.

The whole excessive swearing thing, is just an act while is IN CHARACTER as the AVGN.

1) Being the most intelligent person on youtube isn't saying very much. ;)
2) I don't care what he's like off camera. I'm not talking about the person himself, I'm talking about the show.


edit: I just watched his old vid for castlevania 2, and that was much better, it actually focused on the game, and didn't go off on some rant about **** sandwhices. He should have stuck with that format instead of generating that whole obnoxious character.
