well, the whole conversation started because there was election talk going on, and laser chimed in with his displeasure that gay marriage initiatives are passing. after quickly finding out that his issue with it is that gay couples 'can't share gametes' (or something like that), i then changed the topic to myself, as i'm in a heterosexual relationship, but i too don't plan on having children. i was pretty certain he would flip flop when i asked if *i* didn't deserve the same rights as child-bearing couples, and then it quickly went off the deep end into crazytown :p

I think AirCommodore's initial comment makes even more sense.

When you tried to overload the op with too much rationale it appears the robot went into "Does not compute" mode, and flailed it's arms around in trying to comprehend the information.

Great. As if it wasn't bad enough that women expect us to love them for their minds, now we have to love them for their gametes too?!

"Honey, you're beautiful!"
"Yes dear, but I want you to love me for my gametes."
"Bu..But honey, I can't even SEE your gametes!"
"Well then dear, I guess we have nothing more to talk about. I'm taking the house, the kids (except for the bratty one, he's all yours), and 50% of everything you own."

Nice. I like that beautiful rock part. I happen to know few people who can't put sensible arguments together during discussion. This, however, tops everything I ever heard.

the scary part is it doesn't sound like something he came up with on the spot to justify his prior statement. the fact that he actually came on here afterwards to basically reiterate tells me that this is probably rather important to his life's philosophy.

I bet he is in his early teens. This sounds like arguments in discussions about love and family that could happen near primary school.

Your ideals are selfish.

Now, do you agree that holding in your own bodily fumes in a public location is a selfish thing to do to your humanity?

That's something I will agree with, and with pride let it out.

Hahaha! Omfg, now I think we all have a near loss of words in this instance. xD

Love has a dictionary definition, sure. Both males and females view the worlds in their own ways, with subtle differences. But love can happen anywhere and between anyone (and there are many forms of love), given the right chemistry, setting, personal interests, and even some scientific terms, like genes and hormones.

You really can't decide for everyone what such a versatile word will come to mean for them, furthermore, love should come long before a child does. If you have to bear a child to recognize love, your priorities are screwed on backwards. Love at its most basic level is something that either physically, emotionally, or mentally links you to another individual (where it is mutual).

Love can only be what every couple decides it to be. You lose OP, "all your base are belong to me."
